On May 7th, 2026 at approximately 1135 hours I Officer Minut responded to the Travel Lodge (320 Cabiness Rd, Forsyth) for the second time in regards to a disturbance.
When I arrived on scene the first time I met with the Travel Lodge manager. He advised me that a female from last night refuses to leave. The female who was later identified as Kierra Walton, was very irate with the hotel manager due to a civil issue between them. Kierra was advised that she needed to pack her stuff and leave the hotel.
Kierra advised me that she was going to pack her belongings but needed some time. While talking to Kierra she mentioned that she was going to be petty and leave a trail of cereal and chips down the hallway if they didn’t give her the money. I explained to Kierra multiple times that she would need to go to court for the civil issue regarding her money. Kierra then walked off to jump her car and grab her belongings. I then left the scene without an issue.
I was then dispatched to the Travel Lodge regarding the same thing at 1135 hours. Kierra still hasn’t left the hotel but now the hotel manager saw broken chips all over below the stairs. I then went to speak with Kierra, Kierra first advised me she didn’t do it. Kierra then changed the story as said she tripped and dropped the chips. I mention to Kierra about the statement she made before and she got very defensive about it.
Kierra was patted down to make sure she had no weapons or contraband and was detained in the back of Officer’s Cody patrol car. I then went to look at the cameras and saw Kierra walking down the hallway from her room with a hoodie sleeve stuffed full. You then can see Kierra walking back to her room. In the video, Kierra did not trip. She purposely threw the chips over the ledge of the stair well.
I walked to Officer’s Cody car and advised Kierra I saw the security footage of what actually happened. I had Kierra step out of the car and asked her to place her hand behind her back. Kierra became irate again and crossed her arms in front of her. Officer Cody and I had to pry open Kierra’s arms to get to her hands so we can place her hands behind her back.
Once Kierra’s hands were behind her back, I placed handcuffs on her, check for proper tightness, and she was then placed in the back of my patrol car. Officer Cody advised me the hotel manager stated Kierra damaged a Samsung TV $250, TV box $125, and a mattress $400 that was in the room she was staying in. Kierra was transported to the Monroe County Jail and turned over to the facility.
Kierra was given a Criminal Trespass Notice, which she signed.
Citation #270001914 (under city ordinance) for Disorderly Conduct
