Driver 1 initially backed into driver 2’s unoccupied vehicle and left the scene. Driver 1 was later identified and taken to the Monroe County Jail for hit and run as well as suspended registration.

Driver 2 parked in a parking spot at Firehouse Subs where he works. A passerby came in and notified him of someone hitting his vehicle outside.

Upon arrival I walked to the Shell station next door and they showed me video footage of the accident but were unable to send me a copy. I got the tag number and was later contacted by the registered owner’s cousin who stated Mrs. Watts was driving the vehicle and also provided an address she was at. Deputy Hawkins made contact with Mrs. Watts at her listed home address where she admitted to hitting the vehicle and stated she knew she should have reported the accident but left anyway.
