On 1/28/2025, myself and Ofc. E. Eaton were dispatched to Cricket Wireless on 1512 Eatonton Rd. in reference to an irate customer, later identified as Brandon Justers. Upon arrival, I went inside the store and spoke with the caller, who was an employee on duty. She explained to me that she was trying to help Brandon get a new phone, but was telling him the process of getting the phone on his own service, and that it would be a little more expensive than having his cellphone on someone else’s line. Brandon continued to argue with her on the price and was frustrated at her for “not listening” to her. The worker stated from what she observed, Brandon was possibly under the influence of alcohol.
As I excited the store, I approached the car where Brandon was. I first talked to the person that was trying to calm him down, she stated that he was trying to get his own phone but was having difficulties finalizing a price. I then advised her that I was not accusing him of anything, but I had to ask because it was brought up by an employee, if he was under the influence of anything. Brandon overheard me asking this and was yelling saying that I’m accusing him of being drunk for no reason. I then repeatedly tried explaining to Brandon why I was asking that, but he repeatedly kept raising his voice over me so I was unable to explain myself to him.
Ofc. E. Eaton then advised me to obtain his ID. I asked him for his ID and he stated that he has nothing to hide. I asked again and he refused again. Ofc. E. Eaton then told Brandon to step out of the vehicle. Upon doing so, Ofc. E. Eaton asked Brandon additional times for his ID, again he refused every time. Ofc. E. Eaton then placed Brandon in cuffs and told him that he had several opportunities to give us his ID. Ofc. E. Eaton then advised me to place him in my vehicle because he was under arrest. I then transported Brandon to the Morgan County Detention Center where he was booked and processed.
