Officer’s Narrative:

On 02/14/2022 approximately 19:08 I, Deputy Vannoy and Deputy Garren responded to Veterans Park located on Hyden Tyler Rd due to two male subjects fighting in the parking lot.

When I arrived on scene I spoke with [WITNESS #1] while Deputy Garren spoke with [WITNESS #2]. I had [WITNESS #1] to explained to me what happened. [WITNESS #1] stated she was here to watch [REDACTED BY AGENCY] play in the basketball game. [WITNESS #1] stated that her son did not play at all so she went to speak with Austin Sollicitor who is her ex husband and also the coach for the [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

[WITNESS #1] stated that a verbal altercation occurred with Austin Sollicito at this time. [WITNESS #1] then took [REDACTED BY AGENCY] away from the team. [WITNESS #1] stated that Austin Sollicito took the child back stating he will stay with the team. [WITNESS #1] then stated that her now husband [VICTIM #1] then got involved and a vernal altercation then occurred with [VICTIM #1] and Austin Sollicito. [WITNESS #1] stated her husband [VICTIM #1] was escorted out of the building at this time.

[WITNESS #1] stated after getting [REDACTED BY AGENCY] she walked outside where she saw Austin Sollicito on top of her husband [VICTIM #1] fighting. [WITNESS #1] stated she saw Austin punch [VICTIM #1] in the face while [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was present in the vehicle that [VICTIM #1] was next to. [WITNESS #1] stated that multiple people came to help separated both [VICTIM #1] and Austin Sollicito.

I then spoke with [VICTIM #1] who was located in the passenger seat of the vehicle. I asked [VICTIM #1] to explained to me what happened. [VICTIM #1] stated he was walked out of the basketball game due to getting into a verbal altercation with Austin Sollicito. [VICTIM #1] stated he got into his vehicle with two of his [REDACTED BY AGENCY] at this time.

[VICTIM #1] then explained that Austin Sollicito came to the passenger side of the vehicle asking him what his problem was. [VICTIM #1] stated he open his vehicle and at this time Austin Sollicito slammed him to the ground. [VICTIM #1] stated Austin punched him in the face, and he started to throw punches towards Austin also at this time.

The [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was clinging to [VICTIM #1] and the [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was in the back seat. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] appeared to be scared. I observed a small laceration on [VICTIM #1] temple of his head, redness around his neck, and a small scratch on his arm.

Deputy Garren advised me that one of the workers that walked [VICTIM #1] was present also outside. I then spoke with [WITNESS #2] about what occurred. [WITNESS #2] stated that [VICTIM #1] and Austin Sollicito got into a verbal altercation inside the building. [WITNESS #2] then walked [VICTIM #1] to his personal vehicle where he stated [VICTIM #1] was very calm about why he was being escorted out, and was going to wait for his wife [WITNESS #1] to come outside to leave. [WITNESS #2] then stated he heard a female scream to where he saw [VICTIM #1] and Austin Sollicito on the ground fighting. [WITNESS #2] stated Austin Sollicito was on top of [VICTIM #1] throwing punches towards his body.

I then spoke with Austin Sollicito about what occurred inside the building with [WITNESS #1] and outside with [VICTIM #1]. Austin Sollicito stated he is one of the coaches for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] basketball team. Austin Sollicito stated that [WITNESS #1] came across the basketball court due to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] not playing any of the game, and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was on the bench crying because of this.

Austin Sollicito tried to explained to [WITNESS #1] that their [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was not yet at the level as the rest of the team, and [WITNESS #1] started a verbal altercation with him. Austin Sollicito then stated that [VICTIM #1] got involved with the verbal altercation where he was escorted out of the building to his vehicle. Austin Sollicito stated he went to the vehicle that [VICTIM #1] was located at to speak about what occurred.

Austin Sollicito stated a physical altercation then occurred between both parties. I also observed blood on Austin Sollicito knuckles due to the skin being broken and a small laceration on his temple. When I asked about the marks Austin Sollicito stated it happened when he punched [VICTIM #1].

Deputy Garren then advised me that [WITNESS #3] was en route to the parking lot due to witnessing what occurred. When [WITNESS #3] arrived I had him explained to me what happened. [WITNESS #3] stated he only saw both males on the ground fighting, but saw Austin Sollicito on top of [VICTIM #1].

Due to multiple statements of Austin Sollicito continued the altercation after being separated, and him seen making the strikes towards [VICTIM #1], Austin Sollicito was placed under arrest. Austin Sollicito was placed in hand cuffs to fit and double lock before being placed in my patrol car.

I then transported Austin Sollicito to the Murray County Sheriff’s Office where he was turned over to jail staff. Austin Sollicito will be charged with battery and two counts of cruelty to children in the 3rd degree.
