On December 24, 2023 at approximately 2306 hours, I Sfc. Hill responded to the above address in reference to a disturbance with a male intoxicated and threatening self harm.
Upon my arrival I spoke with [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] who stated that Cody Savage was yelling and causing a disturbance. I was then lead to Cody’s room where he was laying in bed. I asked Cody what was going on and he stated nothing that he was laying in bed. Cody was in a aggregative state while speaking. I then asked why he had a knife and threatening to hurt him self, he then stated he didn’t and kept asking me if I saw a knife.
[WITNESS #2] then started saying that Cody was in the kitchen with a knife and that he has had his music up loud and he was disturbing a hospice patent in the next room. [WITNESS #2] stated that she was the one who took the knife away from him. While [WITNESS #2] was speaking Cody would continuously make comments and curse and tell them to leave his fu*king room. [WITNESS #2] was not in his room. Cody was told to stop and to calm down. Cody continued to be loud and curse.
I then walked over to Cody and told him to put his hands behind his back. I then grabbed his left wrist and while doing so Cody tried to tense up. I then gained control of Cody and placed him in handcuffs to the rear, checked fit and double locked.
I then walked Cody to my patrol vehicle where he continued to yell. While trying to speak with [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] Cody continued to scream so I went to my patrol vehicle and opened the door, Cody then placed his right knee out of the patrol vehicle yelling that he wanted to speak to the Sergeant, I then informed him that was me. I pushed Cody’s knee back into the vehicle and told him to stop he then did it again and when I pushed his knee back in he pushed outward again catching my hand between his knee and the partition in my patrol vehicle. I then closed the door.
I then went back to [WITNESS #2] and [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] had several video’s on his cell phone showing Cody being confrontational with [WITNESS #2] and [WITNESS #1] and loud music was playing in the background. In one video he stated that he would call the police and get [WITNESS #1] arrested and then started cursing at him.
I then transported Cody to the Murray County Detention Center where he continued to curse in the back of my patrol vehicle. Cody was then released to jail staff.
