On 08/10/2025 at approximately 00:17 hours Deputy Burch and I, Deputy D. Neelley, were dispatched to [600 BLOCK] Wilson Road in reference to a disturbance in progress. The caller, [VICTIM #1], stated that Destiny Willis had been drinking, began throwing things, and was using profanity against Mr. [VICTIM #1]. While en route to the address, dispatch informed responding units that Ms. Willis was now in the yard and in the nude.

Upon my arrival, I spoke with Mr. [VICTIM #1]. He stated that nothing physical had occurred, but she had been throwing things around and using immense amount of profanity against him. Mr. [VICTIM #1] also stated that Ms. Willis was in the house. I entered the home with Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s permission and began looking for Ms. Willis. Mr. [VICTIM #1] turned off a loud television playing music, and I heard movement coming from a back room. I walked to the door, knocked on it, and announced my presence as the “Murray County Sheriff’s Office.” As I opened the door, Ms. Willis jumped from the window. I ran out of the house and towards the window she jumped from, also notifying Deputy Burch that she jumped from the window, and that she was running towards what I believed was Smyrna Church Road. Deputy Burch and I looked into the woods briefly, where she would’ve ran, before checking other areas of the property. A small garage was checked, but Ms. Willis was not located.

Corporal Cartledge responded to the area and staged on the other side of the woods in case she continued in his direction. Deputy Burch also left the scene to check the nearby area. As Deputy Burch returned, him and I checked the woods again, and I observed Ms. Willis walking in my direction. I announced once again “Sheriff’s Office” and ordered her to stop, but she turned away from me and began walking away.

I once again told Ms. Willis to stop, in which she stated “I’m not running, I’m walking.” I caught up to Ms. Willis and kept her from proceeding any further. Ms. Willis continued to resist both units by grabbing nearby trees and limbs to prevent us from moving her hands from behind her back. After a brief struggled, Ms. Willis was taken into custody.

Ms. Willis was placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle after several commands for her to enter the vehicle. Mr. [VICTIM #1] soon brought a robe and later clothes for Ms. Willis. The robe was placed over Ms. Willis, and the clothes were placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle to later be turned over to the jail.

A more in-depth statement was obtained from Mr. [VICTIM #1] at that point. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that approximately an hour before he called in, Ms. Willis had been drinking and began getting irate. He stated that it continued getting worse, and reached its climax when Ms. Willis looked up her daughter on Facebook. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that at no point was there physical violence against him, but was worried, due to her condition, what may happen, resulting in him hiding his firearms from Ms. Willis. Mr. [VICTIM #1] additionally stated that Ms. Willis began making suicidal statements, stating that she was going to harm herself.

Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that nothing in the home was damaged, just disheveled.

Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that he believes the mixture of alcohol and her vast mental condition caused the incident.

Mr. [VICTIM #1] was informed that she would be going to jail, and Ms. Willis was transported without further issue.

During transport, Ms. Willis admitted to guilt on the obstruction charge without being asked questions. I informed Ms. Willis that she was being audio and video recorded, but statements continued to be made without any questions being asked.

Ms. Willis and the addition clothes were turned over to jail staff without issue. Jail staff was notified of the prior suicidal statements alleged by the caller, and additional concerning statements made during transport.
