On Friday April 10, 2026 at approximately 2208 hours, I Officer Jinright, along with Sergeant Pierce and Officer Southern, with the Chatsworth Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to [300 BLOCK] Rollie Avenue Chatsworth, Murray County, Georgia in reference to a domestic disturbance that had been called in by the crisis line.

Prior to going to the residence, I was notified by dispatch that there was an officer safety alert on the address that, Drew Mosteller, would possibly be violent toward responders. I told all responding units to standby at Old Dalton Ellijay Road and Magnolia Drive so we could all go in together. When we met in the parking lot, a black Honda Civic pulled in. [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1] got out of the vehicle. [VICTIM #1] said that they had called the crisis line because he believed that Drew was having another episode. [VICTIM #1] said that Drew was acting erratic and said that he bruised his arms. [VICTIM #1] said that he bruised easily but still had fresh cuts on his arm.

When asked what had happened, [VICTIM #1] said that Drew was supposed to be cooking ribs to eat. [VICTIM #1] said that Drew came into the house frantically and said that he started a fire. Once the fire was extinguished, [VICTIM #1] told Drew to shut the gate to the pool deck. [VICTIM #1] said that after no response he put on his shoes and went out to see if the gate was shut.

[VICTIM #1] said that before he could make it to the gate Drew approached him and grabbed him by the arms aggressively. [VICTIM #1] said that Drew then grabbed him by the back of his neck and pressed his forehead to [VICTIM #1]’s and said look at me. [VICTIM #1] said Drew was talking non sense and he was concerned for his safety so he got into his vehicle and drove to [WITNESS #1]’s house. [VICTIM #1] said that is when he called the crisis line. Officer Southern was able to secure photographs of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries, after that we went to the residence.

We parked short of the driveway, turned off the lights on our patrol units, and walked up the driveway. Drew was outside with [WITNESS #2]. When drew saw us walking up he started telling us if we did not have a warrant to leave. Drew went into the residence and shut the door. [WITNESS #2] was upset because he was telling us that he could talk Drew down and we needed to back off. After the misunderstanding between [WITNESS #2] and law enforcement, [WITNESS #2] told us that he could get Drew to cooperate with law enforcement without Drew trying to fight. [WITNESS #2] spoke with Sergeant Pierce who agreed to let [WITNESS #2] go in the residence and speak to Drew.

I stood outside and after Drew and [WITNESS #2] had several words with each other [WITNESS #2] motioned for law enforcement to come in the residence. Drew willingly placed his hands behind his back and was walked out of the residence without any further issue. I asked Drew if he had been consuming alcoholic beverages and he said that he had been. As Drew was placed into the back seat of a patrol unit, he pulled out a package with a store bought THC cigarette and handed it to me. Drew was then transported to the Murray County Jail.

I remained on scene and turned over the THC cigarette to [WITNESS #2]. After a short while [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1] arrived back at the residence. [VICTIM #1] asked if Drew would be getting out anytime later in the night, I explained to him that due to the nature of his charges that he would have to go to a first appearance hearing. [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1] asked what could be done, I suggested that they go speak to the district attorney on Monday morning to see if there is an order that can be put in place to have Drew remanded to a mental facility. [VICTIM #1] said that Drew only gets the way he was when he uses the store bought THC products.

I asked [VICTIM #1] if he would write a statement and he said that he would have to tell [WITNESS #1] what to write because he was too shook up at the moment. Once the statement was completed [VICTIM #1] signed it. I asked if they had any more questions for me and they said that they did not.

The statement that was written was placed into evidence at the Chatsworth Police Department. Photographs were also placed in evidence at the Chatsworth Police Department. Drew was charged on state warrants for Elder Abuse and Battery Family Violence.
