On 08/15/2025 Sgt McCarver, Officer Crumbley and I, Officer Maddox, all responded to the area of 1001 Green Rd in reference to a suspicious person that waved around a gun at Murray County High School and was occupying a black truck located at the rec center
Upon my arrival at the Rec Center, I located a black in color truck. Around this time Officer Crumbley and Sgt McCarver arrived on scene. 3 males approached the vehicle and one of the males, Ethan Echeverria, stated that the truck was his. Elijah Ellis stated that he was the one that waved the gun around. Elijah stated that he was just being dumb. Elijah stated that he pointed the gun at the female juvenile. Elijah stated that it was replica gun and not a real one. Sgt McCarver asked Ethan where the replica was. Ethan stated it was inside the truck. Sgt McCarver recovered the replica gun. I observed that the replica gun was red and black in color and looked like a Glock.
Sgt McCarver and I spoke with the female juvenile that had the gun pointed at her. Female juvenile stated that he pulled the gun out and pointed at her and pulled the trigger to the replica gun.
I went back to Elijah and placed him in handcuffs, checked for fit and double locked the cuffs. I checked Elijah for any weapons and placed him into the back of my patrol vehicle. During this time Sgt McCarver advised me that Ethan stated that the replica was his. I placed Ethan in handcuffs, checked for fit and double locked. I checked Ethan for any weapons and then placed him in the back of my patrol vehicle.
After further discussion I decided to charge Ethan and Elijah with Disorderly Conduct instead of a felony for 17 year old males with no criminal history.
I transported both males to the Murray County Sheriff’s Office Jail and turned them over to jail staff with one citation each without further incident.
