On 05/24/2022 at approximately 22:04 hours I, Deputy Burchett and Deputy Towe were dispatched to [1400 BLOCK] Norton Bridge Rd in reference to a male suspect striking the 16 year old female caller in the face with a closed fist.
Upon arrival I knocked on the door to the residence and the front door swung open. A male suspect later identified as Mr. Jacob Andrew Deal was observed laying in the floor unconscious. I then heard the caller identified as Miss [VICTIM #1] announce loudly from inside to come into the residence. Upon entering the residence I observed that Mr. Deal was highly intoxicated and unconscious on the floor by the couch with a small cut on his forehead that was bleeding. Mr. Deal had also urinated on himself.
I tried calling out to Mr. Deal but he did not wake up. As Deputy Towe was attempting to wake Mr. Deal Miss [VICTIM #1] stated that he had hit her and would likely fight when he awoke. I then assisted Deputy Towe with placing Mr. Deal into hand restraints. After Mr. Deal was hand cuffed he started to wake up as we attempted to sit him upright and at that time I heard Mr. Deal state to Deputy Towe that if he did not stop touching him he would beat him up while Mr. Deal used curse words in the statement.
At that time I advised Mr. Deal that he was under arrest. I then spoke to Miss [VICTIM #1] who stated that Mr. Deal struck her in the right side of her face after threatening her and her mother Miss [VICTIM #2]. I observed that Miss [VICTIM #1]’s right cheek and right eye area was swollen. Miss [VICTIM #1] then stated that she struck Mr. Deal approximately three times in self defense. Miss [VICTIM #1] had injuries to her left hand and wrist from the defense strikes. Miss [VICTIM #1] was checked by EMS on the scene but refused treatment.
Miss [VICTIM #2] stated that Mr. Deal also threatened to strike her and she observed Mr. Deal punch a hole into her wooden door. Miss [VICTIM #2] stated that she had invited Mr. Deal into her home because he was an old friend but he had started acting crazy once he had entered the residence.
I searched Mr. Deal’s outer garments for weapons as best as I could while he was unconscious. EMS used a sternum rub to wake Mr. Deal and we then assisted Mr. Deal to the rear seat of my patrol vehicle. I then transported Mr. Deal to the Detention Center where Mr. Deal was released to the jail staff without further incident.
End of Report.
