On 07/01/2025 at 0852 AM, I Deputy Weaver along with Cpl. Pitts responded to [100 BLOCK] Mountain View Spur due to [WITNESS #1] reporting that his brother James Longwell has moved out and left his dogs here with no food or water.
When arriving I met with Murray County Animal Control and observed a gold in color dog in a metal dog crate that did not have a roof to protect it from inclement weather. In the crate with the gold in color dog, there was no food or water and the bottom of the crate was covered in dog feces which the dog was covered in due to poor sanitation from owner.
I then observed further on to the property a black and white dog that was in the same condition as the gold one, in a metal crate with no roof to protect it from inclement weather, no food or water and the bottom of the crate was covered in dog feces which the dog was covered in due to poor sanitation from owner.
I then seen another dog that was white with brown spots in a metal crate but did have a roof of another dog crate on it but was not enough to keep the dog out of the rain. This dog did not have access to food or water either.
While there the caller [WITNESS #1] stated that there was a marijuana plant in the shed that James Longwell was living in. James is also the owner of the dogs that are listed above.
[WITNESS #1] then opened the shed and that is when the two Marijuana plants in a five gallon bucket was located. There was also 3 smoking pipes in the shed as well, a clear glass pipe, a brown wood pipe and another clear glass pipe.
[WITNESS #1] did state that James was living here until recently and left the dogs and his marijuana plants.
The marijuana plants and the smoking pipes was turned in to evidence and the dogs was removed from the property by Murray County Animal Control. Photos of the dogs will be added to the electronically documents of this report.
