On Monday April 13, 2026 at approximately 02:50 hours, I Officer Jinright, with the Chatsworth Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to 707 Old Dalton Ellijay Road (Advent Health Murray) Chatsworth, Murray County, Georgia, in reference to a disturbance between a subject that had been discharged and staff.
While en route [WITNESS #1], an employee at the hospital, said that Matthew Woeltje started walking toward Highway 76 then he found out law enforcement had been called. I encountered Matthew walking on the sidewalk West on Highway 76. I turned around my marked patrol unit and exited it telling Matthew to stop. He started to walk away and then turned slammed a notebook he was carrying on the ground, and sat down.
I asked Matthew what had happened and he said that he was just wanting to go to rehab. Matthew then started rambling on about the code of conduct he saw on a poster in the hospital. Sergeant Pierce arrived to assist. I asked him to stand by with Matthew while I called and spoke to [WITNESS #1].
I called [WITNESS #1] and asked him what had happened. [WITNESS #1] said that Matthew had came into the hospital for treatment for his feet, which Matthew had already told me. [WITNESS #1] said that they treated him and discharged Matthew. [WITNESS #1] said that Matthew went into the waiting area and was causing a disturbance, then went outside and sat down.
[WITNESS #1] and the security officer went and told Matthew since he had been discharged that he needed to vacate the property. [WITNESS #1] said Matthew then got up went into the middle of the street and said “Come out her and find out about it.”, as to try and get them to fight him. [WITNESS #1] told Matthew that he was calling law enforcement and he said that is when Matthew left at a rapid pace walking away.
After speaking with [WITNESS #1], I went and told Matthew to stand up and place his hands behind his back. I placed Matthew into handcuffs, checked them for fit, and double locked them. I transported Matthew to the Murray County Jail and charged him on a Uniform Traffic Citation for Disorderly Conduct.
