On 12/14/2024 I, Officer Jackson, responded to a call for service in the parking lot of the Murray County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a sexual assault against a minor.

Upon arriving at the SO I spoke with the caller, [WITNESS #1], who told me that she and her boyfriend, [REDACTED], left their two juvenile children with [REDACTED]’s dad, Norman Baity, while they went shopping.

When [WITNESS #1] got back to Norman’s house, where the two juveniles were, juvenile one told her that “papaw” (Norman) put his tongue in the juvenile’s mouth. [WITNESS #1] told juvenile one to come with her into the bathroom as she needed to go to the restroom. She then asked juvenile one what happened and juvenile one again stated “papaw” (Norman) stuck his tongue in the juvenile’s mouth. [WITNESS #1] then told [REDACTED] what juvenile one said and the two brought both juveniles into the room to ask what happened while they were gone.

Juveniles one and two stated Norman had been smelling their buttocks’. Juvenile two stated Norman unbuckled his belt and unzipped his pants and pulled his private parts out of his underwear. Juvenile two also stated Norman asked the juveniles if they wanted to touch his private parts. Juvenile one and two stated Norman told them not to tell anyone because touching peoples private parts is not okay. Juvenile two also stated Norman put his hand inside the pants of Juvenile one.

Detective Stover was also on scene and was given this information from [WITNESS #1]. Detective Stover scheduled a forensic interview with the children, and will be handling the investigation.
