On August 17th of 2022 I, Deputy Alberto #9166, was working a football game at Liberty Middle School when a fight between adults broke out.

I was advised by school staff that there was a fight near the other end of the football field. As I got closer to the area where the incident was occurring I realized that it was a fight between several adults and not students. The fight was between several adult males and females. I advised dispatch that I had an active fight and a crowd over 100 people. School administrators and I attempted to break up the fight.

As more units arrived on scene the crowd began to disperse towards the front of the school.

Several people stated that they wanted to press charges for assault. The only third party witness that was willing to speak with me stated that she observed a female with long yellow braids approach a family and they began to argue over $2. She stated she did not see who threw the first punch. One party stated an older male hit a female with long dreads in the face. The other party stated that the female with the long dreads hit the male first.

I advised the parties involved that a report would be generated and they were given case numbers. After viewing a video circulating on social media I took out warrants for affray on the parties involved. I was not able to get names of all the subjects that were involved due to them walking away with the crowd as other units arrived on scene.

The school principal also advised all present parties that were involved that they were now banned from all Newton County Schools and events.
