On June 6, 2026 I responded to a property damage call at [70 BLOCK] Benedict Drive in Covington, Georgia 30016. Upon arrival I was met by the complainant Ms. [VICTIM #1] outside of her residence.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] informed me that she wasn’t home but showed me her Viviant Home Surveillance footage; which shows a light skin black male identified as Mr. Montae Mitchell park infront of her driveway, get out of the vehicle’s driver seat walk up to the vehicle, walks back down the driveway, turns around and shoots six shots from a rifle.
I asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] who was the last person to drive the vehicle and she stated her sixteen year old son. I interviewed her sixteen year old son with Ms. [VICTIM #1] present. Her son was able to inform me that he knew the person on the video because they used to be friends.
Sgt. Kitchens came out to the residence from Crime Scene and was able to locate the shell casings I also informed the on call investigator what was going on, which was Investigator Threets. Inv. Threets came out to the scene to interview the individuals. The individual that was home with three juveniles at the time of the incident didn’t want to fill out a witness statement, nor identify himself.
I took photos of the damage and uploaded them through Axon Capture. I also has Ms. [VICTIM #1] sent me the surveillance footage and uploaded it through Axon Capture also.
Four shots were accounted for: one hit the front of the house, one hit the back of the trunk, and two hit the rear of the vehicle.
