On 03/27/26, I responded to a report of a hit-and-run on US 441 South near the intersection with North Main Street. The victim was in a white Ford Ranger. He stated that a silver Chrysler 200 tried to change lanes in front of the Ford Ranger. The left rear of the Chrysler struck the front left corner of the Ford Ranger.

The driver of the Ranger stated he pulled over and tried to get the attention of the white female driver of the Chrysler 200 by getting out of his truck and knocking on her window. She did not acknowledge him. When the light turned green at the intersection, the female driver of the Chrysler continued south.

The driver of the Ranger was able to take a photo of the license plate on the Chrysler. The tag was [REDACTED] out of Georgia. I was able to run the tag through GCIC and get the name of the registered owner.

I searched the Flock camera system and saw pictures that reflected damage consistent with the way the Ranger driver described the accident. This damage was on the car after the accident but did not show in the pictures before the crash.

Sergeant Ogan was able to search TLO for the registered owner and find a phone number.

On 03/28/2026, I called the registered owner and told him what happened. He said his girlfriend, Ashley Bartlett, was driving. He also told me that he had noticed the damage and his girlfriend said she had hit a curb.

I told him that Bartlett needed to come to the Oconee County Jail and turn herself in. He stated that he would bring her to the jail.

On 03/28/2026, around 1920 hrs, Ashley Bartlett came to the Oconee County jail to turn herself in. She was issued a citation #34324 for leaving the scene of ab accident (Hit and Run) and turned over to jail staff for booking.

I noted that Bartlett described the accident as follows: She and the driver of the Ranger were traveling south on US 441 when the Ranger came over in her lane. She blew her horn at him because they almost crashed. Then she went to pass him, as she was traveling faster since he was towing a trailer with a large lawnmower. When she passed him is when the collision happened. She stated she thought the Ranger was trying to keep her from passing when they collided.
