[NARRATIVE #1 on June 10, 2026]
On 6/10/2026, at approximately 0017 hours, I, Deputy Ward, was dispatched to 1971 Hog Mountain Road (within Oconee County, GA), regarding a physical domestic. A female juvenile called 911 to report that her mother, Kristen Peters, was severely intoxicated and had punched her 16-year-old sister in the face. The juvenile caller advised she was driving their vehicle when this occurred, and pulled over at the above address to separate the two parties, and to contact law enforcement.
On arrival, I contacted two female juveniles, and one male, in the parking lot of 1971 Hog Mountain Road. When speaking to the female juvenile caller, she advised she was 17-years-old. While accompanied by her 16-year-old sister, her 19-year-old male friend, and their mother, Kristen, they all went to see a movie tonight. Prior to the movie, Kristen, had dinner at a separate restaurant than the other parties. After dinner, all parties met at University 16 theater to watch a movie.
The juveniles mentioned they noticed their mother appeared to be intoxicated when she met them at the movie theater. However, they were not able to confirm if Kristen had consumed alcohol while at dinner, because she did not have dinner with them. While at the movie theater, the juveniles did mention that Kristen was drinking something in a cup that smelled like an alcoholic beverage. After the movie, the juveniles mentioned that Kristen was stumbling around, and appeared to be more intoxicated than before. All parties involved got into their vehicle, and the 17-year-old began driving them home.
While driving home, it was mentioned that Kristen’s emotions were up and down, and she seemed to not be in control of her emotions. While driving on Highway 441 South, near Hog Mountain Road (within Oconee County, GA), the two female juveniles stated Kristen started screaming at the 16-year-old juvenile. Kristen and the 16-year-old were sitting in the back seat together. The 16-year-old reported Kristen started striking her in the left shoulder with a closed fist. When I interviewed the 16-year-old as a victim, she described the incident, in detail.
The 16-year-old stated as her mother was hitting her, she was struck multiple times in the shoulder. When asked to describe the incident, the 16-year-old stated, “It happened multiple times, and each time it got harder.” When looking for injuries, I observed the upper triceps area, and shoulder, to have redness, compared to the lower part of the left arm. The 16-year-old did not report any other injuries and stated she was only struck in the shoulder, not the face.
When interviewing the 17-year-old, she stated she did not see that physical altercation because she was driving. However, she did hear the screaming, and heard the impact of her mom hitting her sister.
When interviewing the 19-year-old, he stated he was sitting in the front passenger seat, Kristen was sitting in the backseat behind the driver, and he did not see the physical strikes, but heard the impact.
While interviewing the victims and witness, Deputy Blair and other deputies were speaking with Kristen. After obtaining physical and testimonial evidence of a crime, I advised the other deputies to place Kristen under arrest.
They did so, and Deputy Blair transported Kristen to the Oconee County Jail.
I did contact the father of the two juveniles prior to leaving the scene. He was advised of the situation, and stated it was okay for his two daughters to be released to the 19-year-old that witness. They were instructed to drive home.
A case card was provided to the victims and they both requested to be notified of the bond hearing. They were also advised of remedies, victim’s rights, and the procedures post-arrest.
Kristen was charged with battery (fva), cruelty to children 2nd degree, and cruelty to children 3rd degree. Warrant applications were completed for all charges.
A VIMES report was also completed for each juvenile victim.

[NARRATIVE #2 on June 10, 2026]
On June 10, 2026, at approximately 0020 hours, I, Deputy Blair, responded to 1971 Hog Mountain Rd in regard to a physical domestic between a mother and daughter. I arrived at the incident location where I made contact with the mother, Kristen Peters.
I advised Ms. Peters to walk to my patrol vehicle, so I could speak with her about what had occurred prior to my arrival. Ms. Peters was asked several times about what occurred between her and her daughter. Due to Ms. Peters level of intoxication, she was unable to provide me with a statement regarding this incident. Ms. Peters was ultimately placed under arrest and was transported to the Oconee County Jail, and turned over to jail staff.
