On January 7th, 2023 I, Deputy Worsham, responded to an address on Monroe hwy in reference to a physical domestic. I was notified by dispatch that the complainant had left the scene and went next door to her grandparent’s house.

I arrived on scene with the complainant, and she told me what had happened. She stated that her boyfriend, Ryan Harris, came home around 0205 hours intoxicated. Once he got home he went into the bedroom where she was sleeping and accused her of cheating. He then grabbed her arm and started punching her and hitting her. He then grabbed her arm and drug her into the living room where he continued to strike her. Once in the living room, in front of the front door, the complainant stated that Ryan grabbed her by the neck, causing her airway to be restricted making it difficult for her to breathe.

The complainant stated that he threw her down on the ground and attempted to Rape her to “prove that she still loved Ryan.” The complainant was able to get away from Ryan without any carnal knowledge or without him taking her clothes off. She went into her bedroom and Ryan followed her to apologize for his actions. She stated that once Ryan got into the room with her he didn’t feel that she felt he was sorry and started grabbing and hitting her again. She was able to get away and ran over to her grandparent’s house for her safety to call 911.

She mentioned that she had two juvenile kids in the house when the domestic occurred, but they did not witness or hear the interaction. The complainant’s neck was red and had marks on it consisting of fingernails from where Ryan choked her. There were scratches to the back of the complaints neck from Ryan’s fingers and scratches to the front of the complainants neck from Ryan’s thumbs. She also had a lot of red marks and bruises around her neck and left arm from the altercation and her nose appeared to be bleeding slightly. The complainant stated that her head was also hurting, and her ear was ringing from where Ryan hit her. The complainant refused to be checked out by medical.

At this point, other units were at the complainant’s address and had Ryan in custody based on the physical evidence of the complainant. I escorted the complainant back over to her house and attempted to speak with Ryan. Due to him already being detained and in the back of a patrol car I read Ryan his Miranda warning. He agreed to speak with me.

He told me that he doesn’t know about any domestic at his house because the complainant was not at home when he got home. He stated that he got to the house around 0100 hours. He stated that he is a DJ at Toppers and that he saw the complainant there and has not seen her since. While I was talking with Ryan he had very slurred speech and an older of an alcoholic beverage was coming from his person. Due to Ryan’s intoxication levels he was unable to adequately answer questions in reference to the domestic investigation.

Once I concluded my interview with Ryan I went inside to speak with the complainant again. She stated that Ryan had thrown stuff around the house and made a mess out of it. She stated that the sheets were pulled off the bed as well. The complainant could not find her phone and it was later discovered in the yard completely broken. The complainant stated that her phone was not like that when she last had it and that Ryan is the one the broke it

Based on the physical evidence and the statements of the complainant, Ryan was transported to jail for aggravated assault FV and criminal trespass FV. Once at the jail, the jail staff did a routine search of his wallet and located a small baggie containing a white crystal-like substance that field tested positive for cocaine. The presence of cocaine on Ryan’s person, and his level of intoxication were contributing factors to his actions. Due to the cocaine being found, Ryan was also charged with crossing the guard lines with a controlled substance and possession of a schedule two controlled substance.

The complainant was advised of the TPO process and how to get a copy of the report. Pictures of the complainant’s injuries were included in the report as well as pictures of the suspected cocaine. A family violence form was filled out and included in the report as well. The warrant system was down at the time of report and will be filled out at a later time.
