I arrived on scene and made contact with both victims, [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #1] said her mom, [VICTIM #2] and her step father got into a verbal argument today. [VICTIM #1] said [VICTIM #2] told her that during the argument, [VICTIM #2] attempted to record the event but her step-father, snatched her phone out of her hand.
[VICTIM #1] told me that her step-father, George Graham, had chased her and [VICTIM #2] with a kitchen knife in his hand, down the stairs in the house, down the porch steps and into their vehicle. [VICTIM #1] said they both got in her truck for safety. [VICTIM #1] said that George attempted to leave the scene after he realized she called 911.
[VICTIM #1] said that George got into his 2012 Honda Accord silver in color bearing the tag #:[REDACTED]. [VICTIM #1] told me she moved her truck, the 2012 Dodge Ram white in color, bearing the tag #:[REDACTED], to block him in the driveway so he could not leave. [VICTIM #1] said that’s when George hit her truck with his vehicle in an attempt to get out. George could not get out and drove through the neighbors yard to get away.
[VICTIM #1] said she believes that George had gone to his other daughters house, at [200 BLOCK] Silverthorne Trl. Deputies attempted to go make contact with George at this address. I observed a vehicle that met George’s description drive by me. I turned around and conducted a traffic stop on this vehicle. I made contact with the driver, who I identified as George. I instructed George to step out of the vehicle. I told George he was being detained at this time, placed him in handcuffs, checked for fit and double locked them.
I asked George what had occurred. George told Deputies that it was his house and he didn’t want [VICTIM #2] or [VICTIM #1] there. I asked George about the knife; George told me he knew nothing about a knife saying “there’s a bunch of kitchen knives”, but claimed it was not used. I asked George about the “Hit and Run” and him driving through the neighbors yard. George alleged that [VICTIM #1] was the one who hit his vehicle, George did admit to driving through the neighbors yard.
I made contact with [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #1] again, [VICTIM #2] told me the following: [VICTIM #2] said she was sick and very hoarse and couldn’t speak well. [VICTIM #2] said she could try writing a statement but said she had bad Arthritis. [VICTIM #2] then told me she would give a verbal statement which was recorded on my body camera.
[VICTIM #2] said that George started yelling at her today because she was asking for certain things. When [VICTIM #2] asked him for the TV remote, George replied “Just shut the f*ck up, don’t talk to me”. During the verbal argument [VICTIM #2] said she attempted to record the incident but George had snatched her phone from her hand and deleted the recording. [VICTIM #2] said she started packing a bag to leave.
[VICTIM #2] told me her daughter, [VICTIM #1], arrived on scene to take her out of the home. [VICTIM #2] said when [VICTIM #1] walked into the house, George grabbed a kitchen knife out and chased them out of the residence yelling “if you don’t get out of my house”. [VICTIM #2] then confirmed the above where George hit [VICTIM #1]’s truck and drove through the neighbors yard in an attempt to leave the scene before law enforcement arrived.
[VICTIM #2] told me she has been dealing with domestic abuse for the last 30 years and that she has dealt with it due to being financially stuck. [VICTIM #2] said that George pays for everything and always has.
[VICTIM #1] filled out a statement form, confirming the above, which has been attached to this report. I observed the knife on the kitchen counter which both victims identified as the knife that George had used. I observed minor damage on [VICTIM #1]’s rear passenger side of her truck and minor damage to the front passenger side of George’s vehicle. I observed tire tracks from their driveway through the neighbors yard. I notified [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] of the TPO (Temporary Protective Order) process and advised them to get one as soon as possible.
I notified George he was under arrest for the following charges: Aggravated Assault – Family Violence (2 counts), Hit and Run and Simple Battery – Family Violence. I searched George incident to arrest. Nothing was located. I transported George to the Paulding County Jail where custody was transferred to the Jail staff without incident.
I cleared the call and returned to service. Warrants were later obtained for the above charges and signed by a judge. Originals were placed in the warrants box and copies were provided to the jail. All pictures and the statement form [VICTIM #1] filled out have been attached to this report.
