Officer’s Narrative:

On August 23rd, 2026, at approximately 0100 hours, I, Deputy Owens, responded to [2300 BLOCK] McGarity Road regarding a domestic dispute between brothers.

While other deputies and I were en route to the incident location, dispatch informed us of the following:

The complainant, [VICTIM #1], and his brother, Gerry Edwards, had engaged in a verbal argument. [VICTIM #1] stated that he is currently staying in a camper on Gerry’s property. During the phone call, [VICTIM #1] became frantic and stated that Gerry just rammed his truck into the camper.

When I arrived on scene, I observed a male, later identified as Gerry Edwards, and a female, identified as [WITNESS #1]. Gerry and [WITNESS #1] informed us that [VICTIM #1] was inside the camper.

I instructed [VICTIM #1] to step out of the camper without anything in his hands. After [VICTIM #1] was outside, Deputy Cotton began speaking to him, and I spoke to Gerry, who informed me of the following:

[VICTIM #1] has been “acting off” on today’s date. [WITNESS #1] informed him that [VICTIM #1] brought an unknown female into the camper, and he did not agree with that. When he arrived home, he knocked on the camper door. Once [VICTIM #1] answered the door, he told him to get out. He stated that [VICTIM #1] then blew up and began acting irate. Gerry stated that he drives the black Tahoe bearing Georgia license [REDACTED].

Gerry denied hitting the camper with his vehicle and insisted that the damages were there when he bought the camper. He could not provide a photo of the camper before the incident tonight.

I then spoke to the victim, [VICTIM #1], and he informed me of the following:

He just got back to his house, and when he arrived at the house, one of his female friends showed up unannounced. He informed Gerry that the female was there and Gerry informed him that the female had to leave. He said that after the female left, this is when Gerry arrived at the residence. Gerry began yelling and cussing.

After a few moments, he heard a vehicle start revving up. He looked out the window and observed the headlights of the Tahoe headed in the direction of the camper and Gerry was driving. He held onto something inside the camper; he then felt the impact of the Tahoe striking the camper. He informed me that due to the camper being struck by the Tahoe, multiple items inside of the camper had also been damaged. [VICTIM #1] will provide a list at a later date.

I observed a large dent on the bottom of the camper, which would be consistent with a vehicle striking it. The camper appeared to have been moved off of the cinder blocks that it had been resting on. On the ground, leading up to the camper from the driveway, were tire marks. The tire marks appeared to match the tire tread on the Tahoe that [VICTIM #1] stated hit his camper. In front of the camper were multiple bicycles lying on the ground. The tire marks on the ground led up to the bicycles; the bicycle on top of the others had a bent tire.

Two other males were at the incident location: [WITNESS #2] and [WITNESS #3]. When Deputy Cotton spoke to both [WITNESS #2] and [WITNESS #3], [WITNESS #2] informed him that he saw Gerry pull the Tahoe up to the camper, then back it down to where it was parked in the front yard. When Deputy Cotton asked [WITNESS #2] if he witnessed Gerry striking the camper, [WITNESS #2] retracted his previous statement and stated that he did not see Gerry pull the Tahoe up to the camper.

When I spoke to [WITNESS #1], she informed me of the following:

She saw on the cameras that [VICTIM #1] had a female over at the camper. She then told Gerry that the female was over there. She stated that she did not see anything happen between Gerry and [VICTIM #1]; however, she did hear [VICTIM #1] yelling at his cellphone when she walked outside.

While [VICTIM #1] was writing his statement, he informed me that he did not have any video footage of the incident; however, he was on the phone with dispatch when Gerry struck his camper with the Tahoe.

I then had dispatch send me a copy of the 911 phone call from when [VICTIM #1] called. While reviewing the video, I heard a male state, “My brother is acting crazy, and I feel like he’s physically going to hurt me.” After [VICTIM #1] provided the dispatch operator the address, he then frantically stated, “He’s about to ram; he just rammed the camper with the truck”. In the background of the audio, a loud crash sound can be heard.

I then placed Gerry under arrest, and he was transported to the jail without any further incident.
