On April 3 2026 at 0625 hours I, Deputy Terry was dispatched to [200 BLOCK] Wallace Way in reference to an Aggravated Assault Involving a Deadly Weapon.

I arrived on scene along with Deputy Capozzi, Deputy Moore, and Deputy Resko. I was escorted by a neighbor to the patient inside the residence. I entered the residence and observed the victim, later identified as [VICTIM #1] sitting on the couch with blood covering his body. [VICTIM #1] appeared to have a gunshot would on his left arm along his tricep. I applied a tourniquet onto his left arm until I observed no bleeding from the wound. [VICTIM #1] was conscious at this time and was able to speak to me but not much. Other gunshot wounds were observed on [VICTIM #1]’s chest.

I instructed Dep. Resko and Dep. Capozzi to secure the residence at this time. Once the residence was secure I instructed assisting Deputies to escort all parties on scene outside to the front of the residence. Fire Rescue arrived on scene and began life saving efforts on [VICTIM #1]. The complainant, [VICTIM #2] was one of the parties escorted to the front of the residence.

Deputies met with him and observed video camera footage from home security cameras. The video showed subjects attempting to enter a vehicle parked in the driveway then breaking into the residence shortly after. The suspects broke in through the rear entrance of the residence and [VICTIM #2] stated he woke up to masked suspects at his bed then was sprayed with bear mace. [VICTIM #2] then stated [VICTIM #1] at this time engaged the suspects with a shotgun and they returned fire, striking [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #2] then stated one of the suspects exited the residence through his bedroom window. At this time no additional suspect information was known. Neighbors stated they observed a large dark SUV or Truck in their driveway at the time of the incident.

Once the crime scene was established along with a crime scene log Deputies divided task among themselves until Detectives arrived on scene. K9 Handler Davis arrived and Deputy Capozzi and Deputy Resko assisted him in tracking behind the residence. A large amount of evidence was located behind the residence in the woods during the track.

I remained with the evidence located until Detective Third arrived on scene. Once additional Detectives arrived on scene I took over control of the crime scene log and assisted Detectives when needed. Once the scene was completely given to Detectives I provided them with all information available then I returned to service.
