On July 18, 2026, at approximately 1546 hours, I, Deputy Jeffery McDonald #1346, Paulding County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), responded to [900 BLOCK] Pine Shadows Drive, Dallas, GA 30157 in reference to a domestic dispute that had already occurred at [600 BLOCK] Sterling Drive, Powder Springs, GA 30127.
Upon arrival, we were invited into the residence at [900 BLOCK] Pine Shadows Drive. Deputy Langston spoke with a male, [VICTIM #1], outside the residence. I was taken to [WITNESS #1]’s room and talked to her. [WITNESS #1] stated that she and her husband, Jerrod Campbell, had been arguing since Thursday, July 16, 2026. That he has been “ragey” most days. When asked what she meant by “ragey,” she stated he has been starting arguments and yelling a lot. Jerrod had started an argument with her sister. Throughout their arguments, he uses the excuse that he has been through a lot. Jerrod had received [WITNESS #1]’s permission to use her car and go to his grandmother’s house at [600 BLOCK] Sterling Drive, Powder Springs, GA.
[WITNESS #1] needed her car back and had gone over to get her car back on July 17, 2026, and it was empty on gas. She had him fill the car up and come to [900 BLOCK] Pine Shadows Drive to get more of his belongings and get dropped off at his grandmothers. During the drive to his grandmother’s, they got into another heated argument. They got on the phone with [WITNESS #1]’s father, and he stated to him, “I don’t mean to disrespect you, but if you show up here, you’re gonna get hurt!” Then disconnected the line. [WITNESS #1] stated that Jerrod said, “I’ll fu*king kill your dad.”
She pulled over into a parking lot and got out of the car, telling him to take the car and his belongings and leave. She started walking back to [900 BLOCK] Pine Shadows Drive, and Jerrod pulled up to her, telling her that she was making a scene and to get back in the car. She got into the driver’s seat of the car and told him that they should not talk for the rest of the drive. [WITNESS #1] stated that Jerrod started kicking the dashboard, saying, “Fu*k you and your family.” She stated that she called his grandmother and told her about the threat he had made toward her father, [VICTIM #1].
After they arrived at [600 BLOCK] Sterling Drive, Jerrod’s mother came out, and she talked to the mother on the back porch with Jerrod present as well. [WITNESS #1]’s father, [VICTIM #1], pulled up into the driveway, and [WITNESS #1] stated that Jerrod grabbed his gun, turned the safety off, pulled the slide to the rear, chambered a round, and stated that he was going to kill him. [WITNESS #1] stated that she took the gun from Jerrod and put the safety back on, and put the gun into her purse.
[WITNESS #1] went to [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle to leave, and Jerrod followed. She stated that Jerrod said, “If you want to fight, we can fight,” then grabbed [VICTIM #1]’s collar. She got out of her father’s vehicle to get Jerrod away. Her father performed a U-turn in the driveway, leaving the residence. [WITNESS #1] stated she gave the gun to Jerrod’s mother before getting into her car and leaving. Jerrod stayed at [600 BLOCK] Sterling Drive with his mother.
Throughout my interview with [WITNESS #1], she would stop and start crying multiple times. She also stated that Jerrod was threatening to post lewd videos and pictures of her online. She did state that he had not made any threats to her or gotten physical with her. She stated she wanted a divorce after he threatened her father’s life. [WITNESS #1] was advised on how to get a TPO and start the process for a divorce.
Deputy Mattick spoke with [WITNESS #2] and [WITNESS #3] separately, who had heard the phone call between [VICTIM #1] and Jerrod. [WITNESS #2] received a phone call from Jerrod. [WITNESS #2] stated she heard an argument between Jerrod and [VICTIM #1]. She then heard Jerrod state, “I don’t mean to disrespect you, but if you show up here, you’re gonna get hurt!” [WITNESS #3] stated that he was in the vehicle with [WITNESS #2] and heard the same thing.
Deputy Mattick and I left to go to Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and obtained warrants for Jerrod Campbell for: O.C.G.A. 16-5-21 Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon where Jerrod Campbell grabbed his gun, turned the safety off, and chambered a bullet, while stating he was going to kill [VICTIM #1]; O.C.G.A. 16-11-37 Terroristic Threats and Acts for stating to [WITNESS #1] that he was going to kill her father; O.C.G.A. 16-5-23 Simple Battery Jerrod Campbell grabbed [VICTIM #1]’s collar threatening to fight him.
Once the warrants were obtained, I turned them into the Warrants Division, and we departed for Jerrod’s address at [600 BLOCK] Sterling Drive. Once there, Jerrod was arrested and searched incident to arrest. I did not find any contraband or weapons on him. I read Jerrod his Miranda rights. Jerrod stated that he did understand his Miranda rights and that he was willing to answer my questions.
I asked Jerrod for his statement on what had occurred that day. Jerrod stated that it began on the prior Wednesday or Thursday over a verbal argument between him, [WITNESS #1], and his sister-in-law over dinner. Due to the arguing, he packed his belongings and went to his Grandmother’s in [WITNESS #1]’s vehicle. He and [WITNESS #1] argued over his turning the location off on his phone, and she thought he was out with other girls.
[WITNESS #1]’s mother brought her to her grandmother’s house to pick up [WITNESS #1]’s car. [WITNESS #1] let Jerrod ride with her back to [900 BLOCK] Pine Shadows Drive to get the rest of his belongings. He packed his stuff up, and [WITNESS #1] and Jerrod left, going back to [600 BLOCK] Sterling Drive. While on the drive, [WITNESS #1] and him and gotten into another argument. [WITNESS #1] pulled into a parking lot, called her mother, and [VICTIM #1] got on the phone. Jerrod said that [VICTIM #1] stated he had two daughters and was ready to go to war for them, that he was on his way to [VICTIM #1]’s address, and did not want problems.
Once at [600 BLOCK] Pine Shadows Drive, Jerrod was unloading his belongings from the car, and his mom was talking to [WITNESS #1]. Jerrod’s gun was sitting on top of his totes when [VICTIM #1] pulled into the driveway. Jerrod stated that he never touched his gun. He did not make any threats in any way and did not put his hands on anyone. I secured the seatbelt to Jerrod and departed for the jail.
When we arrived at Paulding County Detention Center, the jail staff medically refused Jerrod, stating he needed to go to the hospital. EMS took Jerrod to WellStar Hospital, while Deputy Mattick and I followed behind. We were relieved at the hospital by transport.
I returned to service.
