On May 29, 2026, around 0850, I Deputy Sweetman and Deputy Kelley, badge #1420, responded to a domestic call at [REDACTED] Dallas, GA, 30157, which led to an arrest.

On the way to the call, we were advised by dispatch that [VICTIM #1], the caller, had left the scene with her kids, [JUVENILE #1], [JUVENILE #2], and [JUVENILE #3] to drop them off at her mom’s house.

I contacted [VICTIM #1] on my county cellphone and asked her what had happened. She explained to me that she and her boyfriend, Jonathan Knouse, were fighting after he came home from hanging out with a friend all night, drinking. She explained that he came home and started yelling and screaming at her while her child, [JUVENILE #1], was in the bed with her. They were fighting, according to what they told me, because she did not answer the phone when Jonathan called from his friend’s house to ask her to pick him up. Jonathan Ubered home and was upset with her.

According to [VICTIM #1], who at first was going to give a written statement, but then refused to fill one out; Jonathan got physical with her during the argument and pushed her to the ground in front of [JUVENILE #1]. The push left markings on [VICTIM #1], and she was visibly and physically shaken by the experience. She explained that the Sheriff’s Office had been out here before for domestics, but they were always verbal. Once she told me everything, we asked her to come back on the scene so we could see the injuries.

Once I finished the phone call with her and she told me she was en route to the residence, I tried to make contact with Jonathan. We saw him in the window as we approached the house. Once on the front porch of the house, I began knocking on the door and asking for Jonathan to come to the door. It went on for about 20 minutes before [VICTIM #1] came back, unlocked the door for us, and granted us permission to enter the house.

As we entered the house, she led us to where Jonathan was in the bath. We separated them and got both sides of their stories. Jonathan confirmed they had been arguing both this morning and last night. He also confirmed that the sheriff’s office has been out at this residence before for verbal disputes, but denied pushing [VICTIM #1] or laying hands on her. He continued to try to deny what had happened this morning. Deputy Kelley and I took pictures of the bruises.

Based on the testimonies, evidence, and visible marks. (the marks were on her left wrist and right knee). I then told Jonathan to go ahead and stand up, and that he was going to be placed under arrest for Battery – Family Violence, and Cruelty to Children in the 3rd degree. He was placed in handcuffs, and they were checked for fitment and double-locked. Once he was in cuffs and brought out of the house, we explained to [VICTIM #1] her next steps and the available victim resources.

Jonathan was searched incident to arrest and then placed in the patrol car. My search discovered nothing. He was in a robe and underwear. I notified dispatch that we had one male in custody and we were en route to the jail.

Once at the County Jail, we transferred custody to the jail staff without incident. I cleared myself from the call and returned to service. Later, warrants were obtained for Cruelty to Children in the 3rd Degree and Battery – Family Violence and signed by a judge. Original’s were placed into the warrants box and copies were provided to the jail.
