On May 23, 2026, at approximately 6:42, I, Deputy B. Mattick, responded to a call for service. I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Whitley Xing in reference to a domestic dispute.

Prior to my arrival, Dispatch informed me that the caller/victim, [VICTIM #1], stated that her husband, Justin Reeves, had struck her and threatened her with a firearm. Dispatch informed me that a white truck would be in the driveway of [100 BLOCK] Whitley Xing.

Upon my arrival, due to the threat of a firearm, I parked my patrol vehicle near the area of [70 BLOCK] Whitley Xing. I deployed the ballistic shield and approached the residence of [100 BLOCK] Whitley Xing. While approaching the residence, I noticed a dark-colored SUV leaving the residence of [100 BLOCK] Whitley Xing.

I stopped the vehicle and spoke with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] informed me that Justin had struck her and threatened her with a firearm. I informed [VICTIM #1] to park her vehicle near my patrol vehicle and maintain a safe distance from the residence. Assisting Deputies and I approached the residence. Using the ballistic shield, I positioned myself near the garage door facing the front door. Assisting Deputies positioned themselves in the rear of the residence and provided cover.

Once more Deputies arrived and set up a perimeter around the residence; I returned to [VICTIM #1] near my patrol vehicle. I asked [VICTIM #1] what had occurred, and she stated the following: She was out with Justin, drinking at bars in Alabama late last night. They returned to the residence at approximately 04:00, and they went to sleep in their bed. Justin began to snore, and she attempted to stop him from snoring. She tried to roll Justin on his back, and that is when he used a closed fist and struck her on the nose. Justin then grabbed her by the throat and pushed her into her pillow.

She stated Justin applied pressure around her neck, making it difficult to breathe. She could not recall if Justin used one or two hands around her throat. She told Justin that she was going to call the Police. That is when Justin grabbed his firearm, pulling the slide to the rear, chambering a round. Then Justin stated, “Call the police”. [VICTIM #1] described the firearm that Justin pointed at her as a Taurus pistol. She then called 911 and exited the residence. [VICTIM #1] stated that Justin owns multiple firearms.

While speaking with [VICTIM #1], I noticed dried blood under her left nostril running from the nostril to the upper part of her lip. I also noticed redness on [VICTIM #1]’s neck. I observed [VICTIM #1]’s voice being raspy or hoarse while she was speaking to me. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was in pain, but declined to be seen by medical.

I then went to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and secured arrest warrants for Justin. The Paulding County SWAT Team was activated, and the scene was turned over to SWAT. SWAT placed Justin in custody, and Deputy Langston transported Justin to the Paulding County Detention Center. I remained on scene with the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI).

Justin committed the offense of O.C.G.A. 16-5-21, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, by assaulting [VICTIM #1] with a weapon that, when used offensively against a person, is likely to or actually does result in serious bodily injury.

Justin committed the offense of O.C.G.A. 16-5-21, aggravated assault by strangulation, by placing his hand around [VICTIM #1]’s throat and applying pressure, impeding [VICTIM #1]’s normal breathing. Justin committed the offense of O.C.G.A. 16-5-23.1, Battery, by causing substantial injury to [VICTIM #1]’s nose. I returned to service.
