On 08/13/2026 at approximately 2000 hours, I, Deputy Banks Cotton with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, was dispatched to the Paulding County Detention Center for criminal damage.
When I arrived on scene, I spoke with the complainant, [VICTIM #1]. I asked [VICTIM #1] what happened, and he told me that he and his wife, [VICTIM #2], were driving east on Buchanan Highway. [VICTIM #1] said that a grey Nissan Rogue was behind them. He said the Rogue passed them on a double-yellow line, crossed into oncoming traffic, and then returned to their lane. [VICTIM #1] said the Rogue brake-checked them right afterwards, causing them to rear-end it. [VICTIM #1] said the Rogue left the scene of the accident. [VICTIM #1] and his wife left as well. He said they were on the way to the Paulding County Jail to do a blood draw for the Dallas Police Department.
[VICTIM #1] gave me a description of the vehicle and provided the license plate [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #1] gave me a dashcam video of the incident. The video is attached to the I-Drive.
