I was dispatched to a dispute with an ongoing physical altercation between multiple individuals.
Upon arrival, we spoke with the original caller, Mr. [WITNESS #1], who stated that there was a group of people assaulting a female at the house across the street.
I walked to [1300 BLOCK] Chester Harris dr where the reported assault had occurred. Upon arriving at the home, we met with the witness, Ms. [WITNESS #2], who was able to show me a video of the assault. In the video, you see Ms. Shamika Lashawn Davis walking up to the victim, later identified as Ms. [VICTIM #1]. While Shamika was walking up to the victim, she was pointing and shoving her finger in her face, and she threw a punch hitting the victim in the face. After the first punch was thrown, you can clearly see Ms. Moneica Timyah Shannon join in on the assault and start to throw punches, striking the victim in the face and head.
The juvenile [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the case also joined in the assault and can be seen throwing multiple punches, striking the victim in the face, head, and even trying to kick the victim while the victim was attempting to get away from her attackers. After the assault was over, all suspects got in their vehicles and left the scene.
While watching the video and interviewing the witness, Ms. [WITNESS #3], the mother of one of the attackers, came to the location. I asked if she knew the location of the three individuals involved in the assault and if they could come back to the scene to give their side of events. Ms. [WITNESS #3] then called the three individuals and informed me that they were coming back to the scene.
After several minutes, the three individuals arrived back on scene. We went to talk with them, and I asked Ms. Moneica to come to the front of my car and talk with me. While talking to Ms. Moneica, she stated that she was trying to help her aunt during the assault. After speaking with her, I placed her in handcuffs, checked for correct fitting, and double locked the handcuffs. In front of the patrol car, in view of the dash camera along with my body-worn camera, I performed a search incident to arrest, using the back of my hand. Nothing was found on her person.
Deputy Ellerbee arrested Ms. Shamika. The juvenile, identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY], had a Form 90 completed on him. Both individuals were taken to the Paulding County Jail. Warrants were latter taken on both subjects. Ms. [VICTIM #1] filled out a witness statement form about the incident.
