On 8/16/2024 at 2244 hours, I was notified by Nurse [WITNESS #1] with Kennestone Hospital about a child who was assaulted. I made contact with Nurse [WITNESS #1], who advised that a 2-year-old child was physically assaulted in the area of Poplar Springs Road and Macland Road by a female suspect who was not the mother. Nurse [WITNESS #1] advised that the child had multiple injuries to their body.
I contacted on-call juvenile investigator Sergeant Whritenour and advised him of the situation. Sgt. Whritenour advised he would have Detective Roach on the way and would have him call me. I spoke with Detective Roach and gave him the information I had on the case. Detective Roach went to Kennestone Hospital to further his investigation.
