On July 26, 2026, at approximately 03:49, I, Deputy Ellerbee, was dispatched to a dispute at [SINGLE DIGIT BLOCK] Forkwood Circle.

Upon arriving at the scene, I spoke with the complainant, [VICTIM #1], who stated that she and her husband, Quentin Cherry, had gone out to fix their relationship; they had been separated for a few months. [VICTIM #1] said that while they were out having dinner and going to an event, Quentin had some alcohol, so she decided to drive back home.

[VICTIM #1] said that while on the way home, she noticed that the music stopped playing. She said the music was connected to Quentin’s phone, so she went to turn the music back on, and when she did, she found out that Quentin had been cheating on her and was talking to other women.

[VICTIM #1] then said that they got home, and this is when she woke up Quentin. She told Quentin that they were done and that he could either sleep in the truck or sleep on the couch inside for the night, but he needed to be gone by morning. This is when she said that she and Quentin began to argue on their way inside the house. When they got inside, she said that the argument continued, and then Quentin grabbed her by the throat and took her into the master bedroom. [VICTIM #1] stated to me that when he grabbed her by the throat, she felt like she could not breathe.

[VICTIM #1] then said that when they got into the master bedroom, Quentin pushed her on the bed, grabbed her arms, and positioned them in a way that made her feel like she could not breathe. [VICTIM #1] said that she tried to defend herself and call for help. While doing this, she said that she got hit in the lip and sustained an abrasion on her elbow. She said she tried to call for her daughter, but Quentin placed his hand over her mouth and nose area, which she stated she could not breathe again.

Eventually, she was able to call out for her daughter; this is when she said that Quentin let her go and began to walk towards the front door. [VICTIM #1] said she followed him so she could lock the door once he exited, but right before Quentin left the home, he turned around and punched [VICTIM #1] in the right eye with a closed fist.

[VICTIM #1] then stated that she locked the door and called 911. [VICTIM #1] said that Quentin left in a blue 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, license plate [REDACTED], and believed that he was going to head to Clayton County, because that is where his main residence is.

I observed swelling under the right eye, a busted lip, and an abrasion on the inner part of her right elbow. Photographs were taken of the injuries and are attached to this report and the Paulding County Sheriff’s drive.

I was unable to speak with Quentin because he left the scene before my arrival.

[VICTIM #1] informed me that she had three children under 18 in the home at the time of the incident. I asked her if any of those children were awake at the time of the incident and heard anything. [VICTIM #1] went to ask those children. [VICTIM #1] came back and said that none of the children heard it except for her daughter, who was 21.

Quentin Cherry committed the offense of OCGA 16-5-21(a)(3) Aggravated Assault by Strangulation when he grabbed the victim, [VICTIM #1], by the throat, which resulted in [VICTIM #1] feeling like she could not breathe. Quentin Cherry committed the offense of OCGA 16-5-41 False Imprisonment when he did pin the victim, [VICTIM #1], to the bed without legal authority to do so. Quentin Cherry committed the offense of OCGA 16-5-23.1 Battery when he did cause physical harm to the victim, [VICTIM #1], during the altercation in the bedroom, which left [VICTIM #1] with an abrasion on the inner part of her right elbow.

Warrants were obtained, and a report was done. I returned to service.
