On December 17th 2024 at approximately 12:10 AM, I Deputy Resko was dispatched to [40 BLOCK] Windsor View Ln in reference to a dispute.

Upon arrival I noticed a truck was leaving the neighborhood. I called out the vehicle to assisting Deputies and continued heading to the incident location. Once I arrived I could see multiple people standing on the side of the road. I could also see a truck and what appeared to be a body laying beside the truck. I got out of my patrol vehicle and made my way to the body. There was a female who was later identified as a [WITNESS #1] laying on top of the body crying. Deputy Dubreuiel badge #1213 and I had to pull [WITNESS #1] off of the body. Once she was pulled away I examined the body and could see what appeared to be a bullet inflicted injury to the males head. The male was also laying in a pool of blood. The male was later identified as a [REDACTED]. I then attempted to calm [WITNESS #1] down in order to get information from her. She then calmed down enough to explain to me that the male on the ground did not shoot himself and that her husband Rick Reed was the one that shot him. She stated he had shot him and then left the scene. I tried to get information on the vehicle he was driving but can only obtain that it was a black truck.

Deputies moved all the pedestrians away from the scene and used crim scene tape to tape off the area of the incident. Deputy Dubreuiel and I searched the incident address for any other victims. Deputies found 2 juveniles inside the residence who were not injured. Deputies secured the rest of the house and had the juveniles wait down stairs in the living room while we cleared the back yard. Deputies then spoke with [WITNESS #1] again who was placed in the back of my patrol car due to trying to go across the crime scene tape to get to [REDACTED]’s body. Deputies then asked dispatch to send in fire and metro to confirm that [REDACTED] had passed away due to the gun shot wounds and to check on [WITNESS #1]. EMS confirmed that [REDACTED] had died and there were no life saving measures they could take to save him at this time.

CID Detectives showed up on scene and begun their investigation. I obtained information from [WITNESS #1] and provided it to the Detective on scene. Deputies then transferred the scene to CID and CSI. Myself and another Deputy blocked the road with out patrol vehicles while Detectives conducted their investigations.

All Deputies went in service.
