On July 21st, 2026, at approximately 0240 hours, I, Deputy Owens 1219, responded to [400 BLOCK] Ashbury Circle in reference to an assault. When I arrived, the suspect was identified, and the victim was transported to Kennestone.

While en route, dispatch informed deputies that the assault was between two roommates. The original complainant stated that the roommates were punching each other and a weapon may be involved. An additional complainant then called and stated, “They have about 10 minutes before I kill every motherfu*ker in this house.”

Upon arriving, dispatch informed Deputy Cotton and I that the suspect was walking down the street. An additional complainant, [WITNESS #1], located at [400 BLOCK] Ashbury Circle, stated that a male was standing on their porch and was saying that he killed a man.

Deputy Cotton and I retrieved our county-issued rifles and began walking down Ashbury Circle. When we arrived at [400 BLOCK] Ashbury Circle, a male, later identified as Taylor Trueblood, began advancing off of the porch of [400 BLOCK] Ashbury Circle. Taylor had a red substance, presumed to be blood, on his hands and feet. Taylor was only wearing a pair of shorts, which also had blood on them.

Deputy Cotton and I pointed our rifles at him; we identified ourselves as being with the Sheriff’s Office, then we instructed Taylor to put his hands up and stop walking. Taylor dropped to his knees and stated: “Please be the cops.” I then approached Taylor and instructed him to place his hands behind his back. Taylor was then handcuffed and walked to Deputy Robinson’s patrol car.

While walking Taylor to the patrol car, he kept stating that there is an evil man and we need to go kill him. He said that “that man” is planning on killing people and he has multiple guns in his basement that he is going to use. Taylor also stated that the man has eaten people. Taylor was then secured in the back of Deputy Robinson’s patrol car.

Deputy Amante and Deputy Cotton entered the residence at [400 BLOCK] Ashbury Circle and began assessing the crime scene. When I entered the residence, Deputy Amante was with the victim, [VICTIM #1], who had severe lacerations to his face, and he appeared to be unconscious but breathing. I also observed a broken chair next to the suspect, a ripped shirt, and a pair of boxers. I told Deputy Amante to stay with [VICTIM #1] while Deputy Cotton and I searched the rest of the building.

After checking the main level, Deputy Cotton and I began walking up the stairs to search the upstairs level. While walking up the stairs, the owner of the house, [WITNESS #2], began exiting his room. Deputy Cotton instructed him to exit his room. [WITNESS #2] informed Deputy Cotton and I that other residents on that level were in their room. I instructed the other residents, [WITNESS #3] and [WITNESS #4], out of their room. Deputy Cotton and I then searched the upstairs level for other people.

Once the building was cleared and secure, Fire and Metro personnel were informed to enter the residence. After Metro personnel assessed [VICTIM #1], he was transported to Kennestone. The residences at [400 BLOCK] Ashbury Circle and [400 BLOCK] Ashbury Circle were secured and roped off as a crime scene. Deputy Passig arrived and began a crime scene log to log all law enforcement personnel entering and exiting the scene.

[WITNESS #2], [WITNESS #3], and [WITNESS #4] all agreed to write written statements of the incident. I spoke to [WITNESS #1] and he provided me with the footage from his Ring camera. The statement forms, along with the Ring footage, were given to the Criminal Investigative Division.

The scene was then left with the Criminal Investigative Division and Crime Scene Unit.
