I, Sgt. Fauquier, was dispatched to [REDACTED] on 15 May, 2026, at approximately 0110 hours. The call was originally dispatched as a 911 hang up, however, central dispatch advised the resident called back and stated his wife was chasing him with a knife and his 3 year old son was present. The caller also told dispatch he and his son were separated from his wife and she was now running around the house screaming.

Ofc. O’Sullivan and I arrived on scene at 0113 hours and approached the residence at [REDACTED]. We could hear no sound coming from inside the house. Ofc. O’Sullivan knocked on the door. The listed complainant/victim, [VICTIM #1], answered the door. I immediately asked where his wife was located. [VICTIM #1] told me she was in the bedroom. I made contact with her there and had her step outside with me. She identified herself as Danyell Lewis Smith. Danyell was using her phone to take photos of messages on her husband’s Apple Watch. Danyell was very agitated stating over and over again that [VICTIM #1] had gotten another woman pregnant. I asked Danyell to describe tonight’s incident to me.

Danyell told me she, [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #1]’s child from a previous relationship were all in the bed together. Danyell said she found his Apple Watch and began going through it as she was suspicious of recent behavior on his part. Danyell told me she found the messages and went to wake [VICTIM #1] to confront him. Danyell then spontaneously uttered that she put her hands on his throat and scratched [VICTIM #1]’s neck. Danyell then told me she sent the juvenile male back into the bedroom as he had awoken. I asked Danyell if [VICTIM #1] touched her in any way. Danyell told me [VICTIM #1] did not touch her and there was no property damaged.

I had Ofc. O’Sullivan speak with Danyell while I then spoke with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] told me he woke up to Danyell’s hands around his throat. [VICTIM #1] told me he was able to get away from her, however, [VICTIM #1] did say this took place while his three year old son was in the bed with them. [VICTIM #1] said Danyell then took a kitchen knife and gestured in a stabbing motion towards him. [VICTIM #1] said when he called the police she threw the knife into the kitchen sink. I asked [VICTIM #1] if Danyell scratched him and he stated he did not believe so. I checked [VICTIM #1]’s neck using my flashlight and could see no marks.

Based on testimonial evidence corroborated by both parties and Danyell’s spontaneous utterance in reference to her putting her hands on [VICTIM #1]’s throat and the fact this was done in the presence of [VICTIM #1]’s three year old son the decision was made to arrest.

Ofc. O’Sullivan handcuffed Danyell behind her back. The handcuffs were checked for proper fit and double locked. Ofc. O’Sullivan then transported Danyell to the Byron Police Department. I returned to the home and made contact with [VICTIM #1] to retrieve Danyell’s wallet. She requested her wallet in order to attempt to make bond once it is set. Danyell was advised of her charges, booked, fingerprinted and then transported to the Peach County Jail by Ofc. O’Sullivan.
