On February 9, 2025, at approximately 1841, I, Deputy Brendan M. Cross of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, responded to 13 Royalty Lane Dillard, Georgia, about an individual beating on a door attempting to gain entry. Upon arrival, the only person I saw was an individual, later identified as Randy Cribb, sitting on the ledge of a large window.

As I approached, I observed that Cribb’s face was covered in blood. I asked Crib what was going on. Cribb stated that the motel had taken his money, and he wanted the room that he had paid for. While speaking to Cribb, I noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from him. When asked why he was locked out of his room, he stated that he lost the key card, but he “was damned if he wasn’t going to get the room, he paid money for.” When asked why he was banging on doors, he pointed toward the maintenance door and stated he was trying to get them to open his door, but they would not answer. I pointed out to him that the door he sat beside was not the front desk and that it specifically said “employees only.” The door opened, and an employee stated that she lived there. She told him multiple times that this was not the front desk and called the front desk about him banging on her door and yelling. I asked Cribb what had happened to his face. He stated that he tripped over the curb and landed on his face. The area he pointed to had blood on the pavement.

Deputy Ortega spoke to [REDACTED] and [REDACTED], who stated that there had been an argument at their house with Cribb. Before it became physical, it was agreed that they would drive Cribb to Mountain Valley Motel. They paid for him to get a room and told the front desk to call them if he caused problems. They had been told that he was banging on different doors.

Cribb was arrested, handcuffed behind his back, cuffs checked for fit, and double locked. Cribb was searched incident to arrest, which revealed no contraband on person. Cribb was then secured in the backseat of my patrol car, which was searched and cleared for contraband prior to transport. Cribb was transported to Mountain Lakes Medical Center for the laceration on his face. Once cleared by medical, he was transported to Rabun County Detention Center. Upon arrival at the detention center, Cribb was turned over to the detention staff. A backseat search after transport revealed no contraband.

Randy Cribb is being charged with OCGA 16-11-41 Public Drunkenness and OCGA 16-11-39 Disorderly Conduct.
