On 05/31/26 at approximately 2114 hours, I Deputy Elvin Thompson unit 406 was dispatched to Piedmont Hospital ER 69 located at 1350 Walton Way in reference to Child Abuse/Neglect.

On arrival contact was made with listed complainant identified as [WITNESS #1], grandmother of 5 year old juvenile [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [WITNESS #1] stated that for the past few months [REDACTED BY AGENCY] has primarily resided with his mother listed suspect Dejah Scott getting him on weekends. [WITNESS #1] stated that Scott has had [REDACTED BY AGENCY] since 05/29/26 at approximately 1530 hours. [WITNESS #1] stated that she was meant to pick [REDACTED BY AGENCY] up today but had to take care of some errands. [WITNESS #1] stated Scott asked if she was still coming to pick [REDACTED BY AGENCY] up to which she stated she was, eventually arriving at approximately 1820 hours.

[WITNESS #1] stated Scott advised that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] wasn’t feeling well having allegedly thrown up some noodles she fed him earlier. [WITNESS #1] stated that when she saw [REDACTED BY AGENCY] he appeared lethargic, with his eyes drooping and there was a strong smell of marijuana wafting off him. [WITNESS #1] stated that while in the vehicle [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that he was hungry and so she had gave him some snacks, with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] continuously expressing to be hungry while still appearing lethargic. [WITNESS #1] stated that she felt something was wrong so went to a Wellstar Clinic who advised her to go to a regular hospital.

Hospital staff advised that when they arrived they observed how lethargic [REDACTED BY AGENCY] appeared as he was unable to remain standin or walk prompting them to use a wheelchair to transport him. [REDACTED], [REDACTED BY AGENCY] charge nurse advised that the drug screening from his urine came back positive or cannabis.

Sgt. Desmond Wells unit B-40, my immediate supervisor was advised followed by CID Sergeant Joshua Evans unit B-71 was also advised. DFCS was contacted with DFCS worker [REDACTED] being notified of the incident.

[WITNESS #1] was provided with a copy of the case number in reference to the call. Incident turned over to CID.
