On 081026 at 2041 hours, I, Deputy John Mitchum, was flagged down regarding an armed robbery.
I spoke with [VICTIM #1] (Victim), who stated that he was robbed for his phone and had his tires slashed by an individual named Gary Springer (Suspect). [VICTIM #1] stated that he was at 2027 Lumpkin Rd at Elliott Park when he noticed Springer going through his belongings. [VICTIM #1] stated that when he approached Springer, Springer pulled out a knife and threatened to stab him. [VICTIM #1] stated that Springer took his cell phone, slashed his bike tires, and told [VICTIM #1] not to return to the park before riding off on a light blue mountain bike. [VICTIM #1] stated that Springer also threatened to kill him if he saw him again.
A BOLO was put out over the radio. Units patrolled the area attempting to locate Springer but were unable to find him.
CID was contacted, and Investigator Walker and Investigator Mathis arrived on scene.
