I, Deputy Evann Bibbs C10p and Cpl Tammy McCladdie C10 were dispatched to [900 BLOCK] Merry St in reference to a Motor Vehicle Theft.

Upon arrival of the scene I made contact with [VICTIM #1] (Victim) who stated that her neighbor referred to by her as “Ike” called her and stated that he saw her vehicle (2017 Gry Kia Sorento Tag #[REDACTED]) at 1739 Walton Way (Circle K) with two unknown black males driving the vehicle. [VICTIM #1] stated her vehicle was at her residence last night when she went to bed at approximately 0000 hours. [VICTIM #1] stated that the vehicle was left secure and that she has the key and her neighbor “Ike” has a spare as well and she allows him to use the vehicle to take his two children to school. RCSO Records Clerk [REDACTED] was advised of the stolen motor vehicle.

“Ike” then arrived on scene and I made contact with him and he stated his name was “Ike” Thompkins(Arrested). Thompkins stated to me that he saw the vehicle at the Circle K with a Black Male dressed in all black and a potential other male with an unknown description. I asked Thompkins what time did he see the vehicle and he stated at approximately 0650 hours. BOLO was then put out for the stolen Motor Vehicle.

I then left the scene to head to 1739 Walton way(Circle K) in attempt to secure camera footage. Upon review of the footage the stolen Vehicle never appeared on scene at the Circle K and neither was Thompkins seen via CCTV Footage.

Cpl McCladdie was then advised by Lt Thigpen A2 and Traffic unit T3 that the Stolen Vehicle was located at 1450 Greene St in reference to Case Number 26-119806. T3 and Lt Thigpen advised that Thompkins was driving the Motor Vehicle, wrecked, and proceeded to leave the scene of the accident. Lt Thigpen advised us that he notified RCSO Records Clerk [REDACTED] of the vehicles recovery.

Due to our Investigation it was Determined that Thompkins reported the vehicle as stolen to [VICTIM #1] due to him wrecking the vehicle.

Deputies proceeded to Thompkins Residence at [900 BLOCK] Merry St Augusta GA to apprehend Thompkins. Deputies surrounded the residence and after several minutes of waiting Thompkins finally exited the residence and was placed in custody. It was revealed that Thompkins gave a false name previously when he came onto the initial scene due to nothing appearing through GCIC/NCIC search and an Odor of an Unknown Alcoholic beverage was being emitted from Thompkins breathe as well. Thompkins then correctly Identified himself as Isaac Thompkins.

Thompkins was searched and placed in the back of the patrol car. Thompkins was arrested and Transported to CBWDC on the Following charges: Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer Misd(16-10-24), Giving False Name/Date or Birth (16-10-25) in reference to case number 26-119819 and Hit and Run/Leaving the scene of an accident (40-6-270) in reference to case
number 26-119806.

Warrant for Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer (Misd) and Giving False Name/Date of Birth were applied and signed for via Warrants.

RCSO Records Clerk [REDACTED] was advised of the Warrant to send over to CBWDC.
