On 08/10/26 at approximately 2257 hours, I, Deputy Devin Camacho (414), and Deputy Eddie Perez (K12) were on a domestic call on Reserve Lane when we heard multiple gunshots coming from an unknown direction. Deputy Perez and I believed the shots were possibly coming from the area of Stevens Creek Road near Riverwatch Parkway. Shortly after beginning our search for the source of the gunshots, Deputy Perez advised that Dispatch was receiving a report of shots fired in the area of [100 BLOCK] Blake Drive, Augusta, GA 30909.
After receiving this information, Deputy Perez and I began responding to the area of [100 BLOCK] Blake Drive. Shortly thereafter, Deputy Cameron Carreras (T17) advised over the radio that Sgt. Keith Smith (B16) had been approached by multiple subjects while conducting a traffic stop on Alexander Drive. The subjects were reportedly yelling that their friend had been shot.
Upon arrival in the area, I observed a silver 2020 Chevrolet Malibu stopped in the middle of the roadway with its hazard lights activated. I also observed three Black females standing near the vehicle who appeared to be in a state of distress and were advising that one of them had been shot.
I made contact with the victim, identified as [VICTIM #1], who advised she had been shot while at [100 BLOCK] Blake Drive following a verbal altercation with an unknown individual. I also spoke with [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #3], who initially corroborated [VICTIM #1]’s account of the incident.
A short time later, [VICTIM #2] advised that a Black male, identified as Patrick Johnson, was the individual who had fired shots at the vehicle and struck [VICTIM #1].
[VICTIM #1] was transported to WellStar MCG Health Hospital for further medical treatment. [VICTIM #3] and [VICTIM #2] were transported to 400 Walton Way (CID) for further interviews with Inv. Terrance Miller and Inv. Trivia Hardy. At that time, the investigation was turned over to Inv. Miller and Inv. Hardy.
