[NARRATIVE #1 on April 29, 2026]

On April 29th, at 1736 hours, Deputy Michael Rowe responded to [2700 BLOCK] HuntCliffe Dr in reference to shots fired.

Dispatch described a small gray 4-door sedan fleeing the scene with multiple individuals inside. The complainant stated that the people in the gray sedan were shooting at people who were on the scene.

Before arriving, Deputy Ryan Nelson H1 observed a small sedan driving erratically and running a red light on Jimmy Dyess Parkway at Belair Road (case number 26-088101). Deputy Nelson then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Belair Road at Halton Road (gray Kia Optima with Georgia tag [REDACTED]). The vehicle was occupied with five subjects. Deputy Nelson detained all five individuals in the vehicle as other units were arriving to assist him.

Deputy Rowe proceeded to the scene on Huntcliff, where he located a crime scene in the complex’s pool parking lot. Deputy Rowe observed three 9mm shell casings in the parking lot.

Deputy Rowe then made contact with the complainant, [WITNESS #1], who stated he had some of the incident on his home camera. [WITNESS #1] stated that a small gray sedan pulled up on the scene and unknown individuals from that vehicle started shooting at other unknown individuals who were sitting at the pool picnic tables.

Deputy Rowe made contact with the males sitting at the picnic table: [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. All three males stated that the vehicle that pulled up started an argument with another male who was walking up behind them. The males stated that the people in the Kia started shooting at the male who was behind them. The three males stated that they were not the ones getting shot at.

It was later determined by CID Investigator Dakota Clark that Marquavia Meriweather was the male shooting the firearm towards [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Meriweather was one of the males that was detained in the Kia at the time of the traffic stop with a firearm. All evidence, videos and information was turned over to Investigator Clark.

[NARRATIVE #2 on April 29, 2026]

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at approximately 1736hrs, I, Deputy Ryan Nelson / H1, was in the area when a call was dispatched regarding shots fired at [2700 BLOCK] Huntcliffe Drive, Augusta-Richmond County, Georgia. Dispatch advised that a black male driver was reportedly shooting from a vehicle described as a gray four-door sedan.

While traveling on West Harper Franklin Avenue, I observed a gray four-door sedan possibly matching the description provided by dispatch drive pass my patrol vehicle. I observed the vehicle make a left turn onto Leadville Court. I conducted a U-turn in an attempt to make contact with the vehicle, as the vehicle proceeded to the end of the cul-de-sac on Leadville Court, turned around, and began traveling at a high rate of speed back toward Harper Franklin Avenue.

The vehicle then made a right turn onto Harper Franklin Avenue, traveling toward Jimmy Dyess Parkway. I initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, later identified as a 2014 gray Kia Optima bearing Georgia tag [REDACTED], on Jimmy Dyess Parkway. The vehicle continued and made a right turn onto Belair Road, followed by a right turn onto Halton Street, where the vehicle came to a stop.

Upon making contact, the vehicle was occupied by five individuals, later identified as Daril Evans / other, Marquavis Meriweather / other, Danny Parker / other, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] / other, and Robert Randolph / arrested. I asked all occupants if there were any weapons inside the vehicle, to which Marquavis Meriweather stated that he had a firearm under his seat.

I retrieved a black Glock 17, serial number CEHM543, from underneath the front left seat belonging to Meriweather. An additional black Glock 17, serial number BNXG462, was retrieved by Deputy Aaron Digiacomo / T14 from Robert Randolph, who was seated in the left rear passenger seat. Both firearms were verified through records via GCIC/NCIC, which yielded negative results.

All subjects were detained and removed from the vehicle. Upon placing Randolph in my patrol vehicle, I detected a strong odor of marijuana on his person. I asked Randolph if he had any marijuana on him, to which he stated yes. Randolph was then removed from the patrol vehicle and asked where the marijuana was located. Randolph stated, “I stuffed it in my pants.”

A clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana was retrieved from Randolph’s groin area. I field tested the substance, which yielded a positive result for marijuana, and the total weight was approximately 42.9 grams, which exceeds one ounce and meets the threshold for felony possession of marijuana under Georgia law. Guns were verified through records by [REDACTED], which came back no record.

The substance was also tested for the presence of fentanyl, which yielded a positive result. Based on the totality of the circumstances, including Randolph being in possession of a firearm while simultaneously possessing a felony amount of marijuana, Randolph was found to be in possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The marijuana was secured and submitted into the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Drug Locker under property receipt #538253. The listed firearms were turned in the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Evidence Locker on property receipt #548684.

Randolph was transported to the Richmond County Jail on the charges of Possession of Marijuana Felony and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Warrants were applied for and obtained on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, and printed by [REDACTED] in Records.

This case is associated to the aggravated assault case that CID responded to under 26-088099. Inv. Dakota Clark is the lead for the aggravated assault case and further follow up and questioning occurred at CID to include a search of the vehicle by CID.
