On 04/19/2026 I, Deputy Whitmer responded in Non Emergency Mode to the area of Fayetteville Road and David Elder Road due to a report of a hit and run.

I arrived on scene and spoke with [VICTIM #1]. He stated he was traveling South on Fayetteville road when a Silver SUV failed to stop at the stop sign and pulled out in front of him. He stated he didn’t wasn’t able to stop before striking the vehicle. He stated the female driver then continued around a second vehicle and left the scene. He stated the vehicle had several flat tires.

Sgt. Fuller was able to locate the female driver and vehicle just inside Fayette County. Sgt. Fuller stayed with the female and vehicle until Crown Towing cleared [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle from the roadway.

I arrived on scene with Sgt. Fuller. Ashley Alvarez (Driver of SUV) was placed under arrest upon the completion of the crash investigation. I handcuffed Alvarez, checked the cuffs for fit and double locked them. Sgt. Fuller transported Alvarez to the Spalding County Jail.

Alvarez was turned over to Jail Staff on the following Traffic Citations:
