On July 3, 2026, at 1527 hours, Deputy C. Lowe #228 responded in emergency mode to [500 BLOCK] Vineyard Rd in reference to a gun shot wound.

Upon arriving on scene, Deputy Lowe’s body worn camera was already activated and made contact with a male in the driveway stating his nephew was inside the home bleeding.

Entry was made into the residence at the front door observing a black male sitting in a chair and another male holding a towel to the victims left neck and left cheek of the jaw.

The victim was identified as [VICTIM #1] (B/M) and the male applying pressure to left side of [VICTIM #1]’s neck and face was [WITNESS #1] (B/M) who is [VICTIM #1]’s father.

Deputy Clark #234 arrived on scene and brought a first aid kit with gauze and applied pressure with the gauze until EMS and Fire arrived to take over patient care.

Wellstar EMS and Spalding County Fire arrived on scene and rendered aid. EMS and Fire the carried [VICTIM #1] to an ambulance where he was treated before being transported to Grady.

While EMS treated [VICTIM #1] on the ambulance, they were able to clean out his mouth and Lt. Storey #206 spoke with [VICTIM #1] on the ambulance. [VICTIM #1] told Lt. Storey, he was shot in Wills Walk and three black males pulled guns out on him and attempted to open the driver door. [VICTIM #1] then drove off and CJ(NFI) shot him.

Family members: [REDACTED] (B/F) and [WITNESS #2] (B/F) were on scene upon Deputy Lowe’s arrival as well. The male who identified himself as [VICTIM #1]’s uncle was [REDACTED] (B/М).

[WITNESS #1] stated his son wrote down the name CJ as one of the shooters and later [WITNESS #2] was able to provide CJ actual name of being Carmajay Rhymes.

Deputy Lowe checked the Records Management System(RMS) for any previous history and got a birth date of [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Carmajay also has an address for [200 BLOCK] Vineyard Ridge.

CID was notified and S.T.I.N.G of the shooting. Inv. Lt. Strock with CID and Inv. Gray with S.T.I.N.G arrived on scene. Inv. Strock was given the names of the family members on scene. Inv. Gray was given the name of Carmajay Rhymes (B/M) who was identified as one of the shooters who shot at [VICTIM #1].

Other responding units and Inv. Gray checked the area of Wills Walk and the area of [200 BLOCK] Vineyard Ridge. No shell casings were found at the time when the investigators were checking both subdivisions.

On July 4, 2026, at 1101 hours, Deputy Lowe drove through Wills Walk to the cul-de-sac of Wills Way to check for shell casings. While patrolling the area, six juveniles were playing basketball. The six juveniles stated they found a shell casing in the roadway in front of [100 BLOCK] Wills Way. Deputy Lowe informed Lt. Storey of the shell casing found and no other shell casings were located. Picture of the shell casing was taken before collected for evidence.

After collecting the shell casing, Deputy Lowe made contact with the parent and guardian of the six juveniles. The parent and guardian of the juveniles was [WITNESS #3] (B/F ). The juveniles were identified as: (J/M), (J/M) (J/M), (J/F) (J/F ) and (J/M).

The one of juveniles did admit to picking up the shell casing and being told to not touch it.

After speaking to [WITNESS #3] and the juveniles, Deputy Lowe checked the area for residence with cameras.

The resident ([REDACTED] (W/F) at [100 BLOCK] Wills Way had camera footage from the shooting occurring at 1525 hours. [REDACTED] was able to provide the camera footage to Deputy Lowe.

Inv. Lt. Strock was advised of a shell casing being located and being collected.

All camera footage and pictures of the shell casing were attached to the report.
