On April 30, 2025, at approximately 1710 hours, I responded to [100 BLOCK] McEthel dr, in reference to an assault already occurred. When 1 arrived on scene, I activated my body-worn camera and contacted Mr. [VICTIM #1].
Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated, the suspect has been having mood swings for awhile. They let him move in on Saturday, April 26th, to help him get straightened back out. While staying Mr. Yevick was doing work for him. Last night, Mr. Yevick apparently lost his cell phone. This morning, the subject became irate and believed that the whole house was out to get him. He left in his truck. While gone, his truck was impounded by the City of Griffin. Mr. Yevick called his girlfriend, Mrs. [WITNESS #1], to come pick him up.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] and Ms. [WITNESS #1] went to pick him up. This caused Mr. Yevick to become more irate. When they got back to the above address, Mr. Yevick ransacked the inside of Ms. [WITNESS #1]’s vehicle and took her debit card. When she attempted to get it back, he got more aggressive but never touched her. Mr. [VICTIM #1] tried to calm him down, and it was at this point that Mr. Yevick pushed Mr. [VICTIM #1]. This caused Mr. [VICTIM #1] to fall, cut his arm and hurt his shoulder.
I asked Ms. [WITNESS #1] the series of events and she stated the same thing as Mr. [VICTIM #1]. When she was attempting to get her debit card back, the subject was getting angrier. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stepped in to de-escalate, and Mr. Yevick shoved him.
I asked Mr. Yevick what occurred and he refused to admit to the arguing, physical assaults, and any other issues. I asked if they were lying and he stated no, that everything I repeated to him was true. He did state that he lived at the house, and they took him in when he became unemployed.
At this point, I placed Mr. Yevick in custody. He was handcuffed behind his back, double-locked and checked for fit. He was secured in the back seat of my patrol car. He was NOT buckled in due to the his position and him still being upset.
He was transported to Spalding County Detention on the following.
- Battery F/V
o Warrant Number:25-EW-002791 - Elder Abuse
o Warrant Number:25-EW-002791
He was turned over to detention without issue. A backseat check was conducted and nothing found.
