On 04/13/2025, at approximately 2235 hours, I responded in non-emergency mode to [1800 BLOCK] Carrington Drive regarding a domestic disturbance in progress.
Upon arrival, I was met on the scene by the caller, who was later identified as [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that she and her boyfriend had been having arguments all day. Her boyfriend was later identified as Marvelous King. [VICTIM #1] stated that the arguments with King stemmed from allegations of [VICTIM #1] cheating. [VICTIM #1] stated that earlier in the day on 04/12/2025, King hacked [VICTIM #1]’s Instagram and Facebook posting on her timeline, “I’m selling cat for $80, and top for $40, get at me.” [VICTIM #1] advised that they began arguing again approximately at 2220 hours. [VICTIM #1] stated that the argument started upstairs when King asked [VICTIM #1] for his phone. [VICTIM #1] stated that she did not have his phone. [VICTIM #1] stated that after telling King this, he started pulling [VICTIM #1]’s hair, spitting on her, and proceeded to choke her. [VICTIM #1] stated that while King was choking her, she could not breathe for approximately 5 seconds.
[VICTIM #1] stated that the argument continued downstairs while she was trying to fix her kids’ dinner. [VICTIM #1] stated that while downstairs, King kept asking about his phones, and when [VICTIM #1] stated she did not have them, King slammed her against the wall in the living room.
[VICTIM #1] stated to law enforcement officers that King was under the influence of Ecstasy pills, weed, beer, and other alcoholic beverages.
Ofc. M. Watkins stated that he spoke with King. Watkins advised that King stated [VICTIM #1] took all of his information out of his phone and wouldn’t give it back. King also stated that something happened with a pan.
[VICTIM #1] stated that throughout the arguments, her 3 children and King’s mother were present.
Photos of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries and damaged property were taken on the scene by Ofc. Watkins. [VICTIM #1]’s visible injuries included a laceration on her right thumb, strangulation marks on her neck/chest, and a mark on her right shoulder.
Due to [VICTIM #1]’s testimony and physical injuries, King was handcuffed behind his back and double locked for security and checked for fit. King was then placed in the backseat of Ofc. Watkins’ patrol vehicle and transported in the most direct route to the Spalding County Jail, where he was turned over to Intake Deputies.
King will be charged with the following: Aggravated Assault, Cruelty to Children (3rd Degree), Battery (Family Violence), and Criminal Trespass (Damage to Property).
