On August 27th, 2026 at approx. 2239 hours I responded to Marathon (1200 Zebulon Rd., Griffin GA, 30223) in reference to sexual assault. I responded in non-emergency mode and arrived on scene.
Once on scene I met with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was at the store with her little brother, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] buying items. [VICTIM #1] stated that she and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were at the front of the store at the check out counter. [VICTIM #1] stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was bent down looking at items on the lower display shelf and she was observing toys to purchase for her child who was at home, [VICTIM #1] stated that while she was standing at the counter an unknown male stood beside her. [VICTIM #1] stated that the unknown male took items out of her hands and sat them on the counter. [VICTIM #1] stated that she told her brother to stand up at this time. [VICTIM #1] stated that the unknown male then began to rub her back and rubbed on her butt. [VICTIM #1] stated that this made her extremely nauseated and the touching was not welcomed at all. [VICTIM #1] stated that she quickly paid for her items and left the store with her brother in order to return to her mothers residence to see to her juvenile son.
[VICTIM #1] stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] wanted to confront the subject but she told him to go back to the residence.
[VICTIM #1] described the unknown male as a little taller than her, wearing a burgundy color shirt, with a square face, and messy hair. [VICTIM #1] stated that the male smelled of alcoholic beverage.
[VICTIM #1] stated that the event occurred between 2100 – 2120 hours this date. [VICTIM #1] stated that her mother, [WITNESS #1] returned home and she informed her of what happened. [VICTIM #1] stated that [WITNESS #1] contacted Police and came back to the store with her.
I then reviewed the stores security camera footage. Viewed on Cameras: 3, 4, 6, and 14.

9:04:00 [VICTIM #1] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] enter into the store and begin shopping.
9:15:30 Unknown male subject with black in color, unkempt hair, glasses, burgundy shirt, blue jeans, tan and white shoes enters into the business.
9:17:14 Male makes contact with [VICTIM #1] and is observed touching [VICTIM #1] on the rear end.
9:19:30 [VICTIM #1] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] are observed leaving the store.
9:30:00 Unknown male is observed leaving the store. Unknown male is observed entering into the front passenger seat of a small white in color vehicle, driven by an unknown white female. Both subjects leave the parking lot, south bound on Zebulon Rd.
[WITNESS #2] advised he was the clerk on duty at the time. [WITNESS #2] stated that he noticed that the male subject was extremely intoxicated. [WITNESS #2] stated that this is the first time he has seen the subject at the store.
After gathering all required information I issued [VICTIM #1] a Case Card (Case #: 26-005041). I advised [VICTIM #1] that a report would be filed and Investigators would be in contact. [VICTIM #1] stated that she understood.
Lt. Jackson notified Inv. Stephens of the incident.
