On July 20, 2023 at approx 2356 hrs, I, Officer Amos #3904 was dispatched to 676 North Expressway (America’s Best Inn) in reference to a domestic dispute that already occurred. I responded in non-emergency mode.

Upon arrival, I spoke with the caller, Mr, [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] said that he invited a young lady into his room #[REDACTED], He said that her name was Sha and she stayed in room #[REDACTED], [VICTIM #1] said that he left his debit card on the night stand while he went into the bathroom and that is when he believes “Sha” copied the numbers from his card and used it to order $96.00 worth of food from Applebee’s on Door Dash.

[VICTIM #1] said he did not realize this until he got an alert from his bank and by this time “Sha” had already gone back to her room.

[VICTIM #1] said that when he called “Sha”, her brother answered the phone and began to argue with him.

Shortly after, [VICTIM #1] said that “Sha” came back to his room and was banging on the door. [VICTIM #1] said he could not see her because she was covering the peep hole with her finger. [VICTIM #1] said that he opened the door and “Sha” came into the room holding a knife, attempting to stab him. [VICTIM #1] said that he was able to restrain “Sha” by holding her arm and pushing her up against the wall. [VICTIM #1] said after doing so “Sha” left the room,

I made contact with “Sha” in room [REDACTED], she was identified as Ms. Shanna Conrad. Conrad said that initially [VICTIM #1] did invite her to his room and offered to buy her food. Conrad said that [VICTIM #1] got upset because he assumed that she would trade the favor of buying food for sex. Conrad said when she refused to have sex with [VICTIM #1], he became irate and she left his room.

Conrad said that [VICTIM #1] called her phone and started an argument with her brother. Conrad said she returned to [VICTIM #1]’ room to talk with him but was adamant about not having a weapon in her hand. Conrad said she only had a plastic fork in her mouth because she had just finished eating. Conrad reiterated that nothing was in her hand.

After reviewing video footage officers observed Conrad walk to [VICTIM #1]’ room holding what did appear to be a knife. [VICTIM #1] banged on the door and was observed obstructing the peep hole with her finger. [VICTIM #1] opened the door and officers were able to see Conrad quickly go into the room and the door slammed. Shortly after, Conrad came out, still holding what appeared to be a knife in her right hand and began walking towards her room. Officers observed what appeared to be an argument continue as Conrad walked away until [VICTIM #1] shut his room door.

This video surveillance was captured by camera 16 on 07/20/23, beginning at 2338 hrs and ending 2343 hrs. A video request form will be submitted. [VICTIM #1] also completed a victim statement form which will be submitted into evidence.

I returned to room [REDACTED], where Conrad was standing by with other responding officers, I handcuffed Conrad to the rear, the handcuffs were double-locked and checked for fit. I advised dispatch and Conrad of her charges. I escorted her to the rear of my patrol vehicle. Conrad was transported to Spalding County jail where she was turned over to deputies.

A warrant will be obtained for Conrad in reference to Aggravated Assault. Conrad will not be charged with theft due to the fact that I could not determine whether [VICTIM #1] allowed her to use his debit card or not.

[End of Narrative]
