[NARRATIVE #1 on May 29, 2026]

On May 29th, 2026 at approximately 0108 hours, Sergeant J. Henderson, Corporal M. Gatto, Corporal C. Smith-Hollingsworth, and Deputy C. Sasser responded to [40 BLOCK] Gloria Jean Road, Reidsville, Tattnall County GA in reference to a stabbing.

Sgt. Henderson responded to the residence with his emergency lights activated, but deactivated them shortly before arrival to avoid possible detection by the offender. Upon his arrival, Sgt. Henderson retrieved his issued Glock 17 9mm Duty Pistol and flashlight and began performing a security sweep of the surrounding area in search of the suspect.

Other units arrived shortly thereafter, and Sgt. Henderson was alerted by [WITNESS #1] that the victim involved, [VICTIM #1], was inside and in need of emergency medical assistance due to extreme blood loss. Cpl. Gatto and Dep. Sasser continued to clear the surrounding area while Sgt. Henderson entered the residence to assess the situation. [WITNESS #1] also advised she was unaware of the location of the offender Charles Logan at that time.

Upon his entrance, Sgt. Henderson made contact with [WITNESS #1], [WITNESS #2], [WITNESS #3] (the homeowner), [VICTIM #2] (the homeowner’s daughter and victim #2), and [VICTIM #1] (victim #1). Ms. [VICTIM #2] was applying pressure to Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s left arm using her hands and some cloth towels. Sgt. Henderson quickly applied his issued tourniquet to Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s upper left arm in an effort to stop the bleeding and notified the Tattnall County 911 Center by radio.

[VICTIM #1] quickly advised Sgt. Henderson the incident was in reference to a domestic dispute over being in a relationship with [VICTIM #2], resulting in him being stabbed by Charles Logan. Ms. [VICTIM #2] advised Sgt. Henderson that Logan was trying to kill her and [VICTIM #1] as well. [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #1] also advised Logan was covered in blood from the altercation, shirtless, wearing blue jeans, and possessed a large knife. Sgt. Henderson stood by with Tattnall County Emergency Medical Services upon their arrival, who quickly took Mr. [VICTIM #1] to Memorial Health Meadows Hospital for treatment.

Ms. [VICTIM #2] advised Sgt. Henderson that Mr. Logan may still be inside her residence at [50 BLOCK] Gloria Jean Road, the location the incident occurred, and gave deputies permission to search the residence. Cpl. Gatto, Cpl. Hollingsworth, and Dep. Sasser cleared the residence, but were unable to locate Mr. Logan at that time.

Following clearing the residence, Investigator J. Dasher of the Criminal Investigation Division was called and notified of the incident, and efforts were started by deputies to tape off the crime scene, start a Crime Scene Log, and interview witnesses at that time. A Police K-9 Unit was also requested by radio for assistance. Sgt. Henderson noted his body worn camera was not activated upon arrival, activated it, and narrated actions taken thus far for documentation.

[WITNESS #4] (A friend/romantic partner of Ms. [VICTIM #2]) arrived at the residence as well, and began attempting to contact Logan by telephone at [VICTIM #2]’s request. Contact was made, and [WITNESS #4] began asking Logan to turn himself in. [WITNESS #4] noted Logan made comments in reference to suicide while speaking with him on the phone, said he would return if law enforcement was not present, and also made mention of making an insanity plea. [VICTIM #2] also advised Logan made mention of being at a safe house, which she advised is an abandoned trailer nearby.

While speaking with [WITNESS #4] and [VICTIM #2], Sgt. Henderson observed a shirtless white male approaching from Gloria Jean Road. Sgt. Henderson advanced with Cpl. Gatto, retrieved his duty pistol, and began giving the subject commands to show Sgt. Henderson his hands. Charles Logan responded with, “I can’t do that” to Sgt. Henderson’s commands. While approaching Mr. Logan, Sgt. Henderson asked Cpl. Gatto to use a non lethal weapon, implying his county issued Taser X2, while Sgt. Henderson provided cover with his sidearm. Cpl. Gatto began giving Mr. Logan commands to show his hands as well while aiming his issued Taser at him.

Mr. Logan continued to stand with his left hand by his side and his right hand behind his back. Cpl. Gatto deployed his taser, striking Logan but not achieving neuromuscular incapacitation with the first exposure. Mr. Logan jerked the object behind his back, but was quickly struck again by Cpl. Gatto’s follow up shot with his taser, achieving full neuromuscular incapacitation. Sgt. Henderson, Cpl. Gatto, Cpl. Hollingsworth, and Dep. Sasser rushed in, restrained, and cuffed Mr. Logan under power. Mr. Logan was disarmed of a large Kukri style blade, which was in a sheath on his backside.

While being placed under arrest and searched incident to arrest, Mr. Logan made multiple spontaneous utterances in the presence of Sgt. Henderson, Cpl. Gatto, Cpl. Hollingsworth, and Dep. Sasser. Mr. Logan repeated several times, “Valhalla awaits me” to deputies, in addition to, “I’m a dead man walking” to deputies. Logan also asked Sgt. Henderson and Cpl. Gatto, “How’s [VICTIM #1], did he die?”, then advising Logan hoped [VICTIM #1] dies. Sgt. Henderson and Cpl. Gatto did not respond to these remarks. Logan also complained to deputies about being molested by another cop, having heart issues, and called deputies pigs while searching him.

Sgt. Henderson escorted Mr. Logan to Dep. Sasser’s patrol truck with other deputies. Dep. Sasser removed the taser probes from Mr. Logan after a photograph was taken for documentation. Tattnall County EMS was requested to evaluate Mr. Logan, responded, and returned to service after clearing him. Inv. Dasher arrived on scene, and began his investigation into the incident. After photographing Mr. Logan, Inv. Dasher released Cpl. Gatto and Dep. Sasser to transport Mr. Logan to the Tattnall County Jail. Sgt. Henderson and Cpl. Hollingsworth remained on scene to assist Inv. Dasher.

Sgt. Henderson spoke with Mr. [WITNESS #4] while Inv. Dasher was taking photographs. [WITNESS #4] reported he received a call from [VICTIM #2], asking him to come to her house now. [WITNESS #4] told Sgt. Henderson he drove to the residence from his residence in Vidalia, GA. [WITNESS #4] advised Sgt. Henderson his relationship with [VICTIM #2] starting as dating, but is now a friendship, possibly turning into a relationship.

[WITNESS #4] noted [VICTIM #2] is in the process of getting a divorce from her husband in Columbus, GA. [WITNESS #4] also said he is friends with Logan, noting they had prior differences but had since worked them out and now he tries to mentor him. [WITNESS #4] explained the incident began after Logan had left [VICTIM #2]’s residence for around 45 minutes to an hour, and returned in a different state of mind. [WITNESS #4] said he did not believe Logan used illegal drugs to cause this. [WITNESS #4] said when [VICTIM #1] came over to the residence, the situation worsened.

[WITNESS #4] advised upon arrival, he helped [VICTIM #2] get her dogs put away so deputies could further investigate. Following this, [WITNESS #4] said he called Logan on the phone and attempted to get him to turn himself in. [WITNESS #4] said Logan made comments in reference to suicide by cop, as well as pleading insanity.

Sgt. Henderson spoke with Ms. [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #2] reported the incident began by Logan asking her to choose between him and [VICTIM #1] in their living room, citing that both males are in love with her. [VICTIM #2] said she told Logan she chose [VICTIM #1], to which [VICTIM #1] began advising Logan it was not his decision but [VICTIM #2]’s. [VICTIM #2] said [VICTIM #1] and Logan entered into a verbal confrontation at that time, so she walked to the kitchen to get a drink.

[VICTIM #2] said the verbal altercation escalated into a physical altercation, with punches being thrown by both but [VICTIM #1] attempted to exit the situation. [VICTIM #2] said Logan jumped on [VICTIM #1], [VICTIM #1] was able to fend him off, then Logan jumped on him again. [VICTIM #2] informed Sgt. Henderson that [VICTIM #1] was yelling for Logan to get off of him and to stop. [VICTIM #2] said [VICTIM #1] came into the kitchen to wash the blood off of his ear, but was followed by Logan and promptly stabbed in the ear with a knife from behind.

[VICTIM #2] said [VICTIM #1] turned around and began grabbing his ear and saying, “Stop, I’ve had enough!”, then said, “[VICTIM #2], you need to get in front of us or he’s gonna kill me!”. [VICTIM #2] said Logan then advised, “You’re not leaving here alive!”, before she was pushed by Logan on to the floor by the fridge. [VICTIM #2] said Logan slashed [VICTIM #1] on his left wrist at that time with an overhand strike, then tried to strike him in the stomach.

[VICTIM #2] continued, advising Sgt. Henderson [VICTIM #1] fled the residence following the stabbing. [VICTIM #2] said Logan held her against the wall by her neck for 15-20 seconds, saying, “If I can’t have you, nobody can!”. [VICTIM #2] told Sgt. Henderson she loosed herself of Logan’s grasp due to him being covered in [VICTIM #1]’s blood, but he was able to grab her again.

[VICTIM #2] said the second time, Logan held the blade against her throat while holding her against the wall by the dryer. [VICTIM #2] advised she struck Logan in his groin with her knee, freeing herself again and enabling her to flee the residence. [VICTIM #2] said she ran to her neighbors residence, meeting up with [VICTIM #1] and assisting him in stopping the bleeding on his arm.

[VICTIM #2] also advised Logan stole her keys during the incident, but further advising she located them in the grass outside the residence.

Following speaking with [VICTIM #2], Sgt. Henderson spoke with her father, [WITNESS #3]. [WITNESS #3] advised he was sleeping on a futon in his living room when he was alerted by [VICTIM #1] knocking on his door. Unaware that it was [VICTIM #1] at the time, [WITNESS #3] said he answered the door armed with a handgun, but allowed [VICTIM #1] to come inside and gave him towels to stop the bleeding. [WITNESS #3] advised he called 911 to ask for assistance, and further advised he also has some of the incident on his in home security cameras.
