On Saturday, July 5th, 2025 at 2009 hours, Deputy McFee IV was dispatched to [400 BLOCK] Russell Road in Thomasville, GA in reference to an Unwanted Guest.

Upon arrival at 2013 hours, Deputy McFee IV made contact with [VICTIM #1], Property Owner, who advised Deputy McFee IV that there were two individuals who were living on his property without his permission. [VICTIM #1] stated that he lives primarily in Dixie, GA, and is not able to come check on his property all the time. Upon arriving at his property on this date he arrived to see it completely littered with trash and debris. There was a generator running with power cords into the living structure.

[VICTIM #1] advised that there is no Power or Water to the property. Deputy McFee IV was advised that Michael Vanover and Quenda Myers were the persons living on the property. [VICTIM #1] stated that Vanover had asked him multiple times if they could live on the property and [VICTIM #1] has continuously told them no. There is no written or Verbal lease and no utilities in Vanover or Myers’ name tying them to the property. Upon inspecting the property Deputy McFee IV observed multiple appliances, household items, trash, random debris, and broken down vehicles scattered around the property.

At that time a very emaciated dog came out from under a rundown trailer. The dog was clearly malnourished and sickly. Deputy McFee IV observed a second dog tied up in a cage, further back on the property. That dog was also visibly malnourished and sickly. Deputy McFee IV then heard other dog barks from inside the living structure. At that time Animal Services was called and notified of the situation. Deputy McFee IV is awaiting the results of the Animal Services investigation for more pending charges.

Moments later while still on the scene, Quenda Myers approached the property and was placed under arrest. Myers was then transported to the Thomas County Jail without incident.

At 2130 Deputy McFee IV was dispatched back to [400 BLOCK] Russell Road due to the fact that someone was seen on the property. Upon arriving, Deputy McFee IV heard the Generator running and made contact with Michael Vanover, who was inside the house. Vanover was then placed under arrest and transported to the Thomas County Jail without incident.

On Sunday, July 6th, 2025, Animal Services went out to [400 BLOCK] Russell Road to observe and collect the animals. A total of four dogs and one cat were seized from the property. Each offender was then subsequently charged with five counts of Cruelty to Animals.
