On August 6, 2025 at 1127 hours I, Officer Cherry, was dispatched to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to a fight.
I responded code 1 due to already being in close proximity of the location.
When I arrived on scene, I saw Complainant/Victim [REDACTED BY AGENCY] standing at in the doorway of her apartment while Offender 1 (Akeelah Chandler) and Offender 2 (Niayuna Johnson) were outside of her door yelling profane language attempting to entice a fight with [VICTIM #1].
As I approached the doorway, Akeelah yelled out “I don’t give a f*ck about no police” and began throwing punches in the direction of [VICTIM #1] while simultaneously, Niayuna, put her hands up in a fighting motion.
I immediately grabbed Akeelah by her right hand and pulled her away from [VICTIM #1] and placed Akeelah’s hands behind her back. While attempting to restrain Akeelah, Niayuna rushed towards me and I extended my right arm to keep her at distance and instructed for Officer Stalvey to handcuff Niayuna.
I was able to place cuffs on Akeelah that were double locked, checked for fitment and facing the rear at 1133 hours. I conducted a search of her person for weapons or any harmful objects or substances and placed her in the rear of my patrol car (Unit 37) properly restrained with a seatbelt.
I transported her to the Tifton Law Enforcement Center and turned her over to the jail with a citation (#211A00027) for city ordinance disordely conduct fighting.
Officer Stalvey transported Niayuna to the jail for me and I turned her over to the jail on a citation (#211A00026) for the same offense.
A search of my patrol vehicle was conducted before and after transport.
