On March 18th, 2025 I, Inv. Lacy received a phone call from [WITNESS #1] who is currently living in Florida. [WITNESS #1] was in a relationship with [WITNESS #2] who is a resident here in Twiggs County. [WITNESS #1] received concerning text messages from [WITNESS #2]’s juvenile daughter. The text messages stated the juvenile’s grandfather Thomas Johnson, attempted to put his hands down the juvenile’s shorts. On March 18th, 2025 I made contact with the juveniles mother [WITNESS #2] at her residence at [10 BLOCK] Highway 96 East Jeffersonville, GA. Ms. [WITNESS #2] was aware of the text messages from her juvenile daughter to [WITNESS #1], and stated the juvenile had disclosed the same statements to her. I confirmed the incident took place in Twiggs County and opened an investigation into the matter.
On March 19th, 2025 I obtained an arrest warrant on Thomas Johnson. As well as a search warrant for his residence at [200 BLOCK] Roddy Rd Cochran, GA 31014. Both warrants were executed on March 20th, 2025 at approximately 7:20 AM. Thomas Johnson was brought into custody and multiple pieces of evidence were seized from his residence. This investigation is on going.
