[NARRATIVE #1 on September 28, 2026]

On the date of 09/28/2026 at approximately 0311 hours, I, Officer Haley, responded to [REDACTED] in reference to a domestic dispute. Dispatch advised that a male subject, Camden Smith, is trying to get into the residence through the back window and even attempting to pull the female party outside through the window.

Upon arrival, I checked the rear of the residence for the Camden Smith subject. Due to previous Law Enforcement interactions with Smith, I know this has been an ongoing issue between Smith and his exgirlfriend and mother of his children, [VICTIM #1]. Cpl. Pyper and I checked the area for the Smith subject for a period of time, then went and spoke with the complainant inside the residence, [WITNESS #1], as well as [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] is the grandmother of [VICTIM #1].

[VICTIM #1] was clearly in distress and did state that an assault has taken place, with Smith being the aggressor. [VICTIM #1] informed me that Smith came to the back window of the residence and knocked on it. This window connects to [VICTIM #1]’s window at the residence. [VICTIM #1] explained that with Smith being the father of their children, she would allow Smith to come speak to her on occasion and give him the benefit of the doubt.

[VICTIM #1] continued, stating that she asked Smith what he was doing there, knowing that Smith knows he is not supposed to be at the residence. [VICTIM #1] stated that Smith did not care, and even pulled out a bag of “drugs,” which she described was a white powdery substance, and asked [VICTIM #1] if she wanted to do the drugs with him. [VICTIM #1] became upset at this, stating that she did accost Smith for this, with Smith knowing that her two children, [REDACTED] and [REDACTED], were present and asleep in the bedroom.

[VICTIM #1] explained that this enraged Smith, causing him to start attacking her, and even trying to pull her out of the window. [VICTIM #1] stated Smith punched her, kicked her in her stomach, aggressively grabbed her arm, and even placed both hands around her throat and choked her, trying to pull her out of the window by her throat. [VICTIM #1] said she did fight back aggressively due to her being in reasonable fear of receiving a serious bodily injury, even grabbing a power chord off the floor with her foot and started to hit Smith with it repeatedly.

[VICTIM #1] stated this was successful, where Smith began to stop, and [VICTIM #1] then began screaming for [WITNESS #1] to call Law Enforcement. Smith then left the scene whenever Law Enforcement was called. [VICTIM #1] stated this altercation woke up one of her children, [REDACTED], who then observed the altercation. The other child, [REDACTED], was also in the bedroom during the altercation as well.

On [VICTIM #1]’s person, I did observe numerous wounds, bruises and cuts on her arms, legs, and neck area. On [VICTIM #1]’s neck area I did observe red marks that appeared to be layered in a way that was consistent with fingers and hand marks. All of these wounds appeared fresh and were consistent with her account of the assault. [VICTIM #1] stated she did want to press charges.

I then spoke with [WITNESS #1], the homeowner. [WITNESS #1] stated the she was awoken by the altercation between [VICTIM #1] and Smith, and heard Smith yell her name, then hearing [VICTIM #1] yell her name as well. [WITNESS #1] then stated she got up and went near the bedroom, with [VICTIM #1] then yelling to call Law Enforcement. [VICTIM #1] then exited the room and informed [WITNESS #1] that Smith tried to pull her out of the window. [WITNESS #1] stated there was a verbal altercation between Smith and [VICTIM #1] for approximately 30 minutes before it escalated physically. [VICTIM #1] stated she asked Smith numerous times to leave during the altercation.

Due to prior Law Enforcement encounters with Smith, he is known to frequent [REDACTED], which is close to the incident area of [REDACTED]. With this information, Cpl. Pyper and I relocated to [REDACTED], where we were able to make contact with the homeowner, [REDACTED]. We informed [REDACTED] that we suspected Camden Smith to be within the residence due to numerous subjects seemingly coming and going from the residence without [REDACTED]’s knowledge. [REDACTED] also stated that he left one of the doors to the residence unlocked, which affirmed my suspicion that Smith was within the residence even more. [REDACTED] gave Cpl. Pyper and I consent to go within the residence to search for Smith.

While clearing the residence, Cpl. Pyper and I made our way to the bathroom area, with my self being lead in the stack. I then began clearing the bathroom area, where I then noticed the shower curtain was closed. I then pulled back the shower curtain, where I did in fact observe Smith hiding in the shower, sitting down. Due to the severity of the charges and the uncertainty of weapons Smith may have, I pointed my department issued firearm at Smith and ordered him to show me his hands. Smith complied. I then ordered Smith to stand up and place his hands behind his back. Smith complied and I placed him in handcuffs, which were checked for fit and double lock. I then escorted Smith out the residence.

Smith had small injuries on his person, and blood on his lip. Smith claimed [VICTIM #1] was the one that attacked him. I then secured Smith in the rear of my Patrol Vehicle, where I then read him Miranda Rights. Smith said he understood his rights and agreed to speak with me. Smith stated that he was actually within the bedroom with [VICTIM #1], stating that they were drinking alcohol together and spending time with each other. Smith explained that [VICTIM #1] got “black out drunk” and just started attacking him, punching him, kicking him. Smith said that he was trying to leave out of the window, where [VICTIM #1] continued attacking him.

There was no evidence supporting Smith’s statement. [VICTIM #1] did not smell of an alcoholic beverage, did not appear intoxicated, and exhibited no signs of impairment. I also did not observe any alcoholic beverages in the bedroom either. I believe Smith’s wounds were [VICTIM #1] merely trying to defend herself from Smith’s assault.

Due to all the testimony and physical evidence from [VICTIM #1]’s injuries, as well as [WITNESS #1]’s testimony, probable cause exists to place Smith under arrest. Smith was transported to the Walker County Detention Center without incident. Smith was then charged with OCGA 16-5-21: Aggravated Assualt, OCGA 16-5-23.1: Battery FVA, and two counts of OCGA 16-5-70: Cruelty to Children (Third Degree).

Photos and Witness Statements attached. [VICTIM #1] was given her Victim’s rights.
