[NARRATIVE #1 on July 03, 2025]

On the above date and at approximately 1945 hours, I was dispatched to the listed address in reference to a verbal disturbance non domestic. While en-route the caller stated to dispatch the verbal altercation was getting pretty heated.

Myself and Sgt Camp arrived on scene and observed the listed suspect and victim in the middle of the street arguing. I spoke with the listed victim about the incident, while Sgt Camp spoke with the listed suspect about the incident. The listed victim stated that he was on probation and they were arguing in the street over a wreck that happened in the city limits of Lafayette. The victim stated the listed suspect presented and aimed a pistol at him while arguing. The listed witness [WITNESS #1] and witness [WITNESS #2] stated they observed the suspect aim the pistol at the victim.

The listed suspect stated he never had a gun at first and then told Sgt Camp that he had a fake gun that he threw in the woods. The listed suspect then recanted that statement and said he did not have a gun and that he was just “fuc*ing around” with Sgt Camp. After further investigation a real firearm was located in the ditch next to where the altercation took place. The listed suspect was arrested and charged with the listed charges in the case report. [NARRATIVE #3 on July 03, 2025]

On the listed date and time I was assisting Deputy Chavez with this incident. During this time I interviewed the suspect and read him his Miranda Warning. He advised he did not want to speak.

Later in the incident he advised me he did want to tell his side of the story. I confirmed that he was aware that he was under arrest either way and then re-read him his Miranda Warning and he advised he understood and did wish to speak with me without an attorney present.

The suspect admitted to possessing the firearm used in this case while being a convicted felon. The suspect denied the other allegations.

I then transported the suspect to the Walker County Jail for Deputy Chavez where he was turned over to detention staff. See investigative for further.
