On 09/26/2026 at approximately 1600 hours, I, Officer Haven, was dispatched to Taco Bell, located at 209 N Main St, in reference to a suspicious person reportedly going through the dumpsters on the property.
Upon arrival, I made contact with the identified offender, Mr. David Bostic, who was actively digging through a dumpster. I asked Mr. Bostic what he was doing, and he stated he was looking for his earring. I observed that he was wearing earrings and informed him of this. Mr. Bostic then clarified that he was looking for his blue earring. I advised Mr. Bostic that he could not rummage through the dumpsters due to a city ordinance prohibiting such activity. Mr. Bostic responded that I did not know him well enough to use his first name and stated that everyone uses the dumpster behind Taco Bell. I then advised him that he needed to leave the property.
As Mr. Bostic began leaving, he became argumentative, used profane language, and stated that he was not afraid of me. I again instructed him to leave the property. While walking away, Mr. Bostic stopped in the middle of the parking lot, looked directly at the complainant, [REDACTED], and loudly shouted an obscene sexual statement. I immediately instructed Mr. Bostic to walk back to me.
I attempted to explain to Mr. Bostic that he was in a public place and could not continue yelling obscene remarks. Mr. Bostic repeated the statement and further proclaimed that he could say whatever he wanted, including additional vulgar comments regarding his sexual activity and relationships with women. He then began walking away again.
Due to Mr. Bostic’s conduct in a public place after being instructed to leave the property, I placed him under arrest for City Ordinance Violations of Disorderly Conduct (Citation #135001112) and Disturbing Containers (Citation #135001111).
Mr. Bostic was handcuffed behind his back. The handcuffs were checked for proper fit and double locked. I searched Mr. Bostic for weapons and contraband, with none located. Prior to transport, I searched the rear compartment of my patrol vehicle for weapons and contraband, with none found. Mr. Bostic was then placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle and transported to the Walker County Jail. Upon arrival, he was turned over to jail staff without incident.
