I responded to the area of Food Lion in Chickamauga in reference to a BOLO for the suspect vehicle driving all over the road. I located the suspect vehicle leaving the parking lot of Food Lion and initiated a traffic stop. Deputy Taylor assisted in conducting the standardized field sobriety battery and advised me that the testing indicated signs of impairment.
At that time, I placed the offender under arrest. I placed the offender in handcuffs, which were checked for fit and double-locked. The offender was then searched, and no contraband or weapons were found. Prior to placing the offender in the back of my patrol vehicle, I searched my back seat for contraband and weapons, and nothing was found. The suspect was read the GA implied consent law and agreed to a test of his breath. The suspect was then placed in deputy Ferguson’s patrol vehicle and transported to the Walker County Jail.
At the jail, the suspect was unable to provide a sufficient breath sample and agreed to a blood sample. The blood sample was collected by nurse [REDACTED] at the Walker County Jail.
